Black- then white- then confusion. He still felt the air rushing past him, the small water droplets hitting him as he plummeted- he still remembered hearing the deafening crack, and that feeling of losing all of his bodily functions below the waist. He remembered, moments later, his head impacting against the bottom- the shock- the cold- the welcome feeling of blackness closing in- and then, everything- gone in one instant. He remembered it all.
So, why then, was he here? The world was not in focus- yet he knew he must not be in Paris. It was bright, the sun shone in his eyes, half-blinding him. He turned his head, and felt an odd sensation. His body- it did not appear to be as it usually was. Maybe he was still injured from his fall- but he would never have survived. Could this be heaven, he wondered- yet he did not think so. He did not FEEL dead. He could sense he wasn't. This could not be heaven.
"Wow! What's that?" came a voice. Javert jumped, and glanced around. His whole neck seemed to be able to twist. He could not feel his arms, or his legs.
"Serperior. The Regal Pokémon. It only gives its all against strong opponents who are not fazed by the glare from Serperior's noble eyes."
All of a sudden- colour- light- the world spun into focus. He appeared to be in a forest of some sort. It looked to be about mid-day. He looked at his own body, and his heart jumped with panic. He was not a human- it seemed he was some sort of snake. Green all over with odd markings, and leaf patterns on his body. What had happened?
"Wow, a Serperior! Isn't that the final form of Snivy?" came the voice again. Javert looked to see who it was that was speaking, and saw, on the other end of the clearing he found himself in, a young boy, a young girl, and another boy- older, but not by much. "Yeah, Ash, I thought you'd know that! You're such a kid!" said the girl. "So, Ash, are you going to capture it?" asked the older boy.
The youngest boy nodded. "You bet I am!" he said, determination behind his words.
Capture? He did not want to be captured- he was the police officer here. Kidnapping was solely against the law- everything he stood for. The horrible thought struck him that maybe he had no authority in this world- as a green snake.
The boy produced a red and white sphere from his bag, and pressed a button on it. A red light began to emanate it, and Javert watched incredulously as it formed into the shape of another curious creature. A small orange pig. "OK, Tepig, let's weaken it first- use Flame Charge!" yelled Ash.
Javert did not like the sound of this at all. He approached the pig, and spoke up- "You scoundrel! Forced capturing of other individuals is kidnapping! I do not want to go with you! I shall make my own decisions here as I am the authority!".
To his horror, all that same out of his mouth was "Serperior Serperior Serperior SERPERIOR!"
What kind of horrible world was this? Where humans were allowed to freely kidnap animals? Javert continued trying to fight back as the pig began shooting flames at him. "No! This is immoral! This is wrong! Stand down to your superior! I am the authority! I am the law!"
Ash pulled out an Ultra Ball from his bag and pressed the button. "Great job, Tepig, now, let's make this Serperior ours!".
Javert could only look on in horror as the device was thrown right at him.
