The Battle Begins!

Hatter and Hare looked at each other, both of their faces a picture of grim determination.

Hatter struck the first blow, his clenched fist reaching its target. Hare quickly reacted, grabbing ahold and yanking with all his might. Hatter jumped back and eyed his opponent warily. He darted his index finger forward in a strategically-placed poke.

"Hey!" Hare cried. He pounded with both his fists as hard as he could. Hatter jumped back, and they both stood tense, sizing each other up for any sort of weakness.

Hare, with a bellowing battle cry (well, it really sounded more like a battle squawk) lunged forward, kicking with his large feet. Hatter dodged out of his way and used his elbow to deliver another blow.

Hare, seeing that things were getting desperate, reached into his pocket and pulled out his weapon. He opened the canister and hurled several small, orange, bullet-shaped objects.

Hatter jumped back and gasped. "So, that's how you wanna play it, eh? Fine!" He whipped out a similar canister of his own and hurled several of the same objects, covered purple.

The punching and kicking and pulling and throwing continued at a furious pace. After what seemed like hours, the two opponents lost their strength and collapsed to the ground.

They lay there for a few minutes, panting and gasping for breath.

Finally, Hatter staggered up to his feet. He rolled his neck and looked down at the giant mound of dough that they had been punching, kicking, pounding, pulling, and throwing sprinkles on.

Hatter gave a little clap and said "It looks like I win, my dear Hare. The dough undeniably resembles a hat!"

Hare got up and looked too. "No, it looks more like a carrot! I won!"

"Au contraire. See this part right here? That's the brim, and the rest of this looks much more like a hat than a carrot."

Hare tilted his head. "Hmm. …I think you're right. It does look like a hat."

Hare and Hatter shook hands, both proud of their effort in the battle of shaping the cake dough.

The End.

(Author's Note: So, I finally manned up and posted an Adventures in Wonderland fic. XD It's a shame this show isn't more well-known, everyone who's seen it seems to love it. The actor ensemble was wonderful, among other things. I have no idea what the odds are of anyone actually reading this, but if you do, R&R!)
