Chapter 1: "The Beginning"
3 months after Jason's Disappearance
Jughead was sitting in the diner downtown drinking coffee and typing on his laptop. "Our story is about a town, a small town, and the people who live in the town. From a distance, it presents itself like so many other small towns all over the world Safe. Decent. Innocent. Get closer, though, and you start seeing the shadows underneath. The name of our town is Riverdale. And our story begins, I guess, with what the Blossom twins did this summer. On the Fourth of July, just after dawn, Jason and Cheryl Blossom drove out to Sweetwater River for an early morning boat next thing we know that happened was for sure was that Cheryl was found on the river's edge. Riverdale Police dragged Sweetwater River for Jason's body, but never found it." All of a sudden his phone buzzes and he looks down seeing a message from his old friend Archie Andrews "Can we talk?"
Archie sat on his bed holding his guitar in his hand as he saw his phone light up and he looked down at the message seeing Jugheads name. The message read "I don't know it depends" Archie sighed and replied "On?" seconds later he got another message "If you're going to tell me the REAL reason why you ditched on the 4th of July trip." Archie sighed and thought back to the day they were supposed to leave thinking of her.
Jughead put his phone down with the screen facing up and started typing on his computer till his phone buzzed one more time and he looked down thinking it was Archie instead it was an unknown number. "Poor little Jughead. I wonder how much you really want to know Archie's little secret. -A" Jughead stared at the message that is on his phone screen "What the hell? A? Who the hell is A?" he shook it off then continued to type on his laptop until he heard the door open. He turned around to see the one person that he had missed over the summer, Betty Cooper, he missed her smile, her laugh, hell he missed everything about her.
Betty had been out of town all summer for an internship she had just gotten back into town. She went straight to the diner downtown to get dinner. As she walked inside of Pop's Diner she looked over seeing him Jughead Jones. A smile grew on her face as she saw him and held he hand up to wave when she heard pop say her name indicating that her food was ready and she grabbed her food and walked out. Her phone buzzed she looked down at her phone seeing a message from an unknown number "I wonder if it's as obvious to him as it is to me. -A" She froze as she read the message. She shook her head "It's probably nothing" She walked home
Cheryl sat on her bed looking through old photo albums of when her and her brother were younger. When she got a message on her phone "I wonder how Mommy and Daddy will react when they find out what really happened on July 4th. - A" Cheryl covered her mouth as she was shocked at what she had just read on her phone.
Betty walked home the words in that one single text message running through her head and she stopped as she saw a taxi stop in front of the recently rented out apartment by her house. That's when she saw a yo
