PLEASE DONT IGNORE!

Hey guys!

So I'm going to warn you in advance, this is short and sad. It has a very important message in the end so please don't skip it!

and if you don't like sad stories... Just read the authors note in the end.

It all happened so quickly.

One minute I was texting Jack, another minute, I was called to the hospital.

"Hello? Is this Ms. Kim Crawford?" The lady on the other line asked

"Yes," I whispered, scared of the news she brought.

"Well Ms. Crawford, your boyfriend, Mr. Jack Brewer is in the hospital..."

That was all it took.

I sprinted out the door and straight to Seaford Hospital.

"Jackson Brewer," I told the secretary hurriedly.

"Are you family?"

"No, I'm his girlfriend," I responded desperately.

"Room 108," she said.

I quietly opened the door to Jacks room. The doctor was there to greet me. He said that Jack had been in an accident because he had been texting someone.

Me. He was texting me.

Jack let out a groan from the hospital bed and I rushed over.

"Jack. Jack. Jack listen to me. You're going to be alright. I know you are. You're a fighter and we'll get through this."

Kim couldn't see, but the doctor was shaking his head sadly at her.

"Kim," Jack said. "Kim, listen to me." His eyes started to droop and I clutched his hand. "Kim, I will always... always... love you. And I want you to... to... live life without me. Always be happy. Know that I'm always with you."

"Jack, don't say those things. You're going to get through this, alright?"

"Kim," he stated. His head nodded towards the table near his bed.

On the table was a ring.

"Yes." She said.

Jack let out a faint smile and his eyes closed.

Kim whimpered. What just happened.

The doctor came over and touched her shoulder gently.

Kim sat there waiting to wake up from this dream. This dream that felt so real. But as much as she shook her head, as much as she blinked, the nightmare wouldn't end.

It seemed like she would live in this nightmare forever.

Before Jack's burial, Kim had felt his heart, seemingly like a bottomless pit: empty, and ceased.

She had held his hand while she put his ring on his finger. She said her vows to him, then left.

But the worst came after the burial. When Kim had checked her phone. The last text Jack sent her said: "I love you."

PLEASE DONT IGNORE: EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!

Alright-

so the main point of this was please don't text and drive. I've heard so many horrible stories about children and babies who die. The "important" text can wait until later. I know you guys can take some kind of pledge online so PLEASE do that.

this story is to say that even the sweetest text can kill someone. If you know someone who texts and drives or if you text and drive just put your phone in the backseat so you aren't tempted

thanks guys!
