Leonard sighed as he lay back in the bath. This was one thing he always enjoyed during shore leave. Sure the sonic showers on the ship were good, but nothing could beat a soak in a hot bath. His fingers stroked lazily along one of the legs that were entwined with his own. A hand grasped one of his ankles and soft lips brushed against his toes.

He raised his head and smiled slightly at Jim. "This is delicious," he sighed.

"Mhm," Jim mumbled, smiling back. "'S lovely."

Leonard gazed at Jim. They had been together for 4 years and the doctor could hardly believe his luck. When they first met he had been a broken man, but Jim had put him back together. As hopelessly cliché as it sounded, this amazing man had brought the sunshine back into his life. Not that the captain was any less annoying when they were together. If anything he was even more so. But that was part of his essential 'Jim-ness'.

A flutter of butterflies hit Leonard's stomach as he reached behind his back to pick up a certain object. It was now or never. Swallowing hard, he reached forward through the water to pass the object to his lover.

Jim gasped as he lifted the ring out of the water. "Bones," he breathed.

"Wha'd' you reckon?" Leonard asked.

"Yeah," Jim responded, his face splitting into a tearful grin.

Leonard took the ring back and slipped it on to Jim's finger, chuckling lightly in relief. That was it. Simple.
