Only one more thing to do, and we'll be done for the day. Not surprising, but there was no one home at the Izumi household except for Konata and me. I didn't want to say anything…but Konata looked different today, it must be the seasonal change, but there was something about her that made me keep looking in her direction.

"I think that's the last decoration Kagami!" I didn't have enough time to snap out of my trance. She walked over to me and patted me lightly on the check and asked if I was okay. "I think I am feeling a bit under the weather" I softly responded. I don't know why I was embarrassed all of a sudden.

She quickly put her hand over my forehead. I jerked back, and I could feel my face turning bright red. "You sure you are okay?" She seemed worried now…I didn't want to put her through that, but at the same time, I am relieved she cared for me at least.

She tugged on my sleeve and brought me inside her room. "Lay down for a bit while I go get some ice." I didn't have much of a choice at this point. I plopped down on her bed, and stared up at the ceiling. I turned over and buried my face into the pillow. It smelled just like her, and I liked that.

Without even knowing, she ran her tiny fingers along my back, and told me to flip over. I didn't even want to look at her, if I did, I don't know what might happen. She put a cold towel over my forehead. Something warm embraced my body. "I hope you don't mind, I'm feeling tired from all the work we did today." I simply nodded my head, and I could feel my heart beating faster and faster.

She put her hand on my stomach, and she slowly worked her way up to my chest. "Why is your heart beating so fast Kagami?" I didn't know how to answer her. I finally opened my eyes and turned to her gently. "Konata…" I didn't know what I was starting, and I couldn't get any of my thoughts together. "Yes Kagami?" She replied in her soft voice that could make any heart melt.

"Thank you for taking care of me," I looked into her tranquil green eyes. It seemed like my body took over. I slowly moved my head over and lightly kissed her on the forehead. She blushed and said with a grin "are you sure you are okay?"
