It was the night before the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Harry was flying on his broomstick at the pitch, while Hermione was sitting, reading a book. Harry suddenly dived down toward her but straightened up a bit, so that he barely missed her. Hermione not realising it was Harry, got up on her feet, book thrown to the side and eyes wide. Harry flew back to her, standing in front of her with a cheeky grin.
"HARRY JAMES POTTER! If you ever throw such a- a-a-" She got so worked up- she couldn't even find the words. Harry realising this couldn't stop grinning but was quickly shut by Hermione's book, hitting him rather hard on the shoulder.
"Ouch" He ducked down and grabbed the book so that she couldn't use it. She however still had her wand in her hand.
"Come on, Hermione. It was just a joke." He tried to cheer her up and it seem to work. Hermione sat down but with a slight pout. Harry pondered for a second before a brilliant idea crossed his mind.
"Hermione!" She jumped slightly but looked at him with a look that clearly said 'What do you want now?'.
"Do you want to fly?" Harry looked at her excitedly, like a child waiting for his/her christmas present. She couldn't say no to that face but she was too scared. Harry sensed this and quickly added.
"With me?" Hermione pondered over it. She had not tried to fly a broomstick since first year and now with Harry, surely nothing could go wrong.
"Alright but don't go too fast" He nodded clearly understanding the message or so she thought. Hermione took the broomstick and got up. Harry got up too and leaned forward, gripping the stick in front of her.
"Alright, Hermione, I'm going to push us off the ground, are you ready?" She took a few deep breaths before answering.
"I'm ready" Harry pushed off the ground and in the beginning they flew slowly. Harry then speeded up. Hermione sensed the swift and tensed even more up.
"Harry…" She said his name in clear warning but he ignored it. He made them go faster and faster before flying directly up toward the sky. Hermione let out a ear piercing scream gripping the stick so tightly, her knuckles turned white.
"Hermione, look" She could feel they were very far from the ground and wasn't much for opening her eyes. Ever so slowly she opened her eyes and it was worth it.
The view of Hogwarts was amazing. Hermione couldn't even describe the beauty right in front of her and could feel herself openly gaping.
Harry too looked stunned by the view and looked to his side, down at Hermione at her expression. He couldn't help but chuckle and Hermione looked at him but held no annoyance.
"Thank you, Harry" She was absolutely terrified by heights but this was definitely worth it all.
"Any time, Hermione, any time."
A/N: Soo what do you think? ;)
