Yes I know I should be working on other stories but couldn't get this off my mind so figured I would go ahead and write it.

Another thought/reflective oneshot... I like getting into the characters heads as you can probably tell...

I do not own Castle.

When had she and Castle become so familiar with each other? Kate lay in bed that night, thinking back on things that had happened throughout the Bobby Mann case.

They, despite their normal banter, seemed to be getting closer each day.

It wasn't anything major, just little things.

Like when they were back in the precinct after confronting Mickey Reed about lying to them. When Castle offered her a bite of his sandwich she didn't even hesitate before reaching out to take it from him. Kate knew that if Howard Wiseburg hadn't picked that moment to storm out of the office she would have taken him up on his offer. Possibly stealing the rest of his sandwich in the process, claiming that she was hungry and that he had already eaten enough of it.

And when she found out that he was sleeping with Elli Monroe, Kate was very irritated. But it wasn't really a jealous irritated, though she would be completely lying if she said there wasn't just a little twinge of that. It was more of an 'I can't believe you are stupid enough to do this' kind of irritated.

Feeling sort of touched, though still mildly irritated, when Castle seemed to be pretending to not be in a good mood for her.

Getting a hollow sort of feeling when she realized that Elli was just after him so that she could get the part of Nikki Heat. Then not really knowing what to do when they argued over her intentions. They fought many times before but something seemed a little different about that time.

Wondering if Castle was really stupid enough to not see that Elli was just acting like she was upset over what he said.

Torn between feeling extremely satisfied and feeling a little sorry for him when Castle finally found out the truth about Elli Monroe.

Instead of being annoyed, she was only confused when she thought he was using some weird come on.

Not even blinking an eye when she asked if he wanted to grab a burger even though to most people, that would have been considered a date.

Feeling a wave of incredulous irritation wash over her as she attempted to talk some sense into him when she thought he was still going to go out with Elli, even though he knew she was just using him to get a part in the movie.

Then of course feeling embarrassed of her outburst when she found out that his 'big date' was with his daughter.

It may be slow, but things were changing between them. They were no longer reluctant partners forced together because of a book.

Now, they were partners writing a whole new chapter in crime solving. Together.

I love the "A whole new chapter in crime solving" line!

Also I have no clue what he was actually eating in that scene but it kind of looked like a sandwich to me...

Short, sweet, and just a oneshot. But reviews are like shots of caffeine for me and they help get things done so if you would be so kind as to push the little button?
