If you are lost in your way
Deep in an awesome story.
Artemis sighed in contentment as he leaned back into the squashy crimson leather arm chair, his feet propped up on a foot rest made of the same material as the chair. His black hair was spiky, for he had just woken up and had forgotten to brush and comb it down. A dark blue robe was wrapped around him, and navy blue silk pajamas covered his white, fluffy slippers.
The fire flickered, and the soft cocoa brown room looked almost golden in the light. The coffee table in front of the fire was made of cherry wood, and the wood pile in the corner of the room didn't look out of place as it would in any other room.
Artemis was reading a book by Anthony Horowitz. The book was called Skeleton Key, and the books that had come before it (Stormbreaker and Point Blank) had kept him engrossed well into the night. It had kept his mind off of all of his problems, and his only worry was if the main character would live or not.
Don't be in doubt and stray
Cling to your lonesome folly.
He frowned slightly. Perhaps he had chosen wrongly of being a criminal. Perhaps using his brain in the CIA would be better. No…He would always be a criminal. Once a criminal, always a criminal after all.
Now you're too close to the pain
Let all the rain go further.
This whole "Should I really be a criminal?" thing was driving Artemis insane. At night he would be tormented with thoughts of being a criminal, of his parents finding out, the looks of disappointment on his face…and suppose one day that really did happen? Butler and Juliet would be fired, that was for sure. Artemis would have to go to some godforsaken boarding school in the middle of nowhere, and he would be closely monitored by someone not so easily persuaded as Butler.
Come back and kiss me in vain.
Mother oh do not bother.
He had lost many nights of sleep over these thoughts. It was a good thing his father was home, to keep his mother occupied. Butler had noticed, but then again, it was a pretty common sight to see Artemis tired over lack of sleep.
Hear the chorus of pain taking you back to proper ways.
It's so easy to find if you could remind me.
He wished someone would help him figure this out! If only someone who would be completely honest with him! Perhaps Holly…? No. It would be impossible to contact her. And she'd probably tell him what career he should have in that oh-so-special way…He smiled slightly as he put a slipped a bookmark on the page he was on. Perhaps he should try to contact her…if not directly her, then LEP…it would be nice to hear Beet Root's voice again…
Now you are lost in your way deep in an awesome story
So I will find you again kiss you for lonesome folly.
