Clark awoke as he felt Lois climb back into bed next to him. Lois rolled over until she reached Clark who then wrapped his arms around her.

"You feeling okay, Lois?"

"Yeah, just a little queasy," Lois mumbled.

"Are you sur"…, Clark began before Lois quickly cut him off.

"Yes, Clark. I'll sleep it off and I'll be fine.

Clark rolled his eyes but decided to drop it. This was the third night in a row Lois had woken up sick in the middle of the night. Every time Clark brought it up, Lois brushed it off and fell back asleep. Clark decided to give it one more night, then he would get really worried. He pulled Lois close and fell back asleep.

7:00 am

Clark groaned as the alarm blared announcing the time. He rolled over and shut the noise off, threw the covers back and stretched. The only light in the room came from under the bathroom door. Evidently Lois had beaten him to hit. Clark groaned once again. This time because he recalled how much time Lois takes to get ready for work. Clark strode over to the door figuring he could jump in the shower while Lois dried her hair. He pushed open to door to find Lois sitting on the bathroom floor with her head leaned against the wall.

Clark sighed half in relief half in exasperation as Lois opened her eyes. He took a washcloth from the cupboard, put it under the cold water and knelt down next to her. He pushed the hair away from her face and handed her the washcloth. "Thanks, Smallville," mumbled Lois. Clark chuckled. At least Lois hadn't totally lost it. Even though they had gotten past their rough patch and were currently engaged, Lois still hadn't given up her old nicknames.

Lois moaned and clutched her stomach. Clark moved behind her and rubbed her back. "Lois, I'm calling the doctor." "No, Smallville," said Lois as she winced. "That's really unnecessary." "No, Lois, this is getting out of hand." "Fine, fine." Lois raised her hands. "I'll call off work today and get some rest."

Clark agreed, yet he had no intention of letting hit go. "Do you want me to stay home with you? It's really no problem at all Lo I'd love to sta.." Lois cut him off yet again and stood up. Not without wobbling and tripping over her own feet. Clark caught and steadied her. "Some one's gotta pay the bills around here. You go to work. I'll be fine until you get back. Then you can take care of me all you want." Lois smirked. Clark was a little overbearing when it came to being sick. He hovered and worried and then hovered and worried a little more. As much as Lois mocked him for it, she really appreciated and enjoyed his affection.

"Come on, Smallville let's move it downstairs."

Lois jumped on Clarks back and he took her to the couch downstairs. True to his nature, he pushed a pillow behind Lois's head and covered her with a blanket. He left water and her cell phone by the couch in case she needed him. Lois smiled as Clark bent down to kiss her on the head. He stroked her hair for a moment and then tucked it behind her ear. "I love you, Lois." Lois's murmured her agreement and her eyes fulttered shut. Clark smiled and sped to work.

"Morning Clark," quipped Chole from her desk. "Hey, Chloe...how's that story coming." "Don't ask," Chole said with an eye roll. "Where's Lois? She really let a few of your typos go on your last draft. I'm afraid she's going soft."

"She's sick again... I'm really starting to worry actually."

"That explains her editing...," Chloe looked thoughtful. "Do you know something, Chloe?" asked Clark. Chloe looked up slowly. "Yeah, I do...I think there's something seriously wrong with Lois."
