But before he got himself and Shadow back, Shadow had pulled Sonic into a passionate kiss a couple of feet away from the viewing area of the ark. Sonic was crying, not out of pain but out of happiness. Ever since he had met Shadow, Sonic had felt something for him that he couldn't identify so he just pushed it out of mind. Only now did he realize what that feeling was. It was love. He thought"No, Shadow couldn't love me. He hates me." Only now did he realize that Shadow did love him. Amy of course who was watching out the window burst into tears when she saw them kissing. Rouge of course was watching them with a kind of 'I knew it' smirk on her face. Finally they broke apart, as they flew back to the ark Eggman was wondering how the hedgehog that once claimed that he couldn't love had fallen in love with his enemy of all people. When they got back on the ark, Rouge told them that she could tell from day one that Shadow loved him as she regularly read Shadow's diary,(this earned a angry outburst from Shadow who was stubbornly insisting that he did not have a diary.)And apparently in le diary Shadow had said he loved Sonic but was debating with himself on how to tell Sonic thinking he wouldn't take the news too well."Now let's go home! To the planet as cool and blue as me!"Sonic said."Says the person who has an ego so big it needs it own zip code."Shadow said dryly.
