A/N: This is my first fanfiction, so please be nice! Reviews are appreciated, as well as suggestions or ideas on what to do differently next time. Thanks!
I knocked on Lily's door, and her sister Petunia opened it up.
"Oh. It's you," she said. "What do you want?"
"Is Lily there?" I asked.
"Yes, but why should I tell her you're here?"
"I'll tell you why, you little-hey, Lily. Could I talk to you outside?" I shot a dirty look at Petunia as I said it. Lily looked really annoyed, but came out anyway.
"What do you want, Severus? I would not be talking to you if my sister wasn't right there. I would have slammed the door in your face."
"I want to talk to you about last June. You know I didn't mean what I said, and I was under a lot of pressure, and it just-"
"Slipped out? Severus, I've told you, you call everyone of my birth that. I'm done talking to you. Goodbye."
She slammed the door in my face. I sighed. I had to get her back, before she slipped into the clutches of that jerk, James Potter. This was clearly going to be harder than I had thought.
There, I thought. I finished tying the letter to my owl's leg. I threw it out the window, and it took off to Lily's house. Later, I ran down to Spinner's End. Hopefully, Lily would be there. Sure enough, I saw her walking toward me.
"Severus, I've told you, I'm done talking to you."
"Then why did you come?"
"To hear you make a fool of yourself," she shot back.
"Come on, Lily. You need to hear me out. You're different from the rest of them."
"The rest of them? Therest of them?! Really, Severus? You should know that we are not all idiots. But maybe you are. You think all mudbloods are idiots, and that they don't deserve to be in the wizarding world. But you are so wrong, Severus Snape. You are so wrong. You are absolutely despicable."
"Well, you know what, Lily? I think that you believe the best of people even when they are bumbling idiots. Have you seen some of the dunderheads that are-"
"Don't you DARE use that word again, Severus Snape!" She interrupted.
"Lily, you just used it!"
"Yes, but that is because I am not a prejudiced PRAT who is arrogant enough to think that they are better than everyone just because they are pure-blood!
That was it. I plunged my hand into my robes, but before I could get to my wand, I froze.
"Next time, Snivellus, take a thorough look around before assuming you're alone." I struggled against the curse that James had put on me.
"James, don't taunt him while he's immobilized. Severus, I'll lift the curse, but if you try that again, you'll be VERY sorry." As soon as she took the curse off, I grabbed my wand, but stopped when she started to reach for hers.
"Fine. You win, Lily. Don't become one of those girls who drools about James Potter." I walked away, irritated, because who had shown up to rescue her but James Potter, her sworn enemy. At the same time, though, I was disappointed, because I knew she would never see me the same way again. Ever.
A/N: So, what do you think? This is the first time I have ever written from Severus's point of view. I'm not sure how I did, so please leave a review on what you think! Thanks!
