Notes: Extremely fluffy little oneshot. You've been warned.
Pairing: Cameron/Cuddy
Logical Conclusions
by Ijemanja
Out of the blue, they meet one day in a shoe store and bond over the relative merits of practical versus impractical footwear in the working environment.
(Cuddy, they decide, needs the height, while Cameron needs to think more of breaking and entering and running down overdue lab results.)
Over sushi, they agree that this habit of calling everyone by their surnames is merely a product of the old boys network - by which of course they mean House - and shouldn't be encouraged.
It is further determined over dessert (a low-carb double chocolate muffin, split between them) that Saturdays involving far less shopping and rather more weekend-consuming hospital- and/or House-related disasters should similarly be discouraged.
Lisa programs Allison's number into her cell phone because, as she says, it's always important for her to be able to reach all of her doctors at a moment's notice (especially when they work for House, who has a tendency to actively avoid her calls.)
The fact that she doesn't keep the numbers of Doctors Foreman and Chase at hand is commented upon by neither of them - Lisa, because she's hoping her excuse isn't all that flimsy; Allison, because she's too busy staring at the tiny dab of chocolate lingering on the other woman's lip.
Out of a need for something to say, Lisa mentions the probability of her starving to death this coming week if she doesn't get to the grocery store that afternoon.
Allison responds absently with the exercise class she'll be late for if she doesn't make it to the gym soon.
And then she can't take it anymore and she reaches over and drags her thumb under Lisa's lip. Frozen at the unexpected touch, Lisa looks down and wonders how inappropriate it would be to suck that thumb into her mouth. Then she looks up and Allison forgets to withdraw her hand.
This is when they both realise there are even better things to do on a Saturday than shopping, Pilates or consuming low-carb baked goods.
(And after all, they can always get muffins to go.)
