A/N: So this is in the Titan's Curse, right before Percy sneaks into the museum and sees Luke and the General.

Disclaimer: My therapist says that I don't own Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I sadly must agree with him for once.

Percy stared at Blackjack. His pegasus was looked like he was about to collapse and he didn't want Blackjack to fly any longer. Percy felt kind of guilty. He had been running his pet for half the day, chasing Thalia's van down. But he HAD to be part of the quest. Percy knew he must save Annabeth.

"Go back to camp. Get some rest. Graze. I'll be fine."

You sure about that, boss?

Percy nodded. "You've done enough already. Don't worry about me."

Blackjack whinnied sleepily and rose to the air before disappearing into the clouds.

Percy let out a sigh and turned to the direction that Thalia and the others had gone. He was about to put on Annabeth's invisibility hat when he heard the unmistakable sound of a sword being unsheathed behind him.

Quick as lightning, Percy whipped out Riptide and uncapped it while whirling around to face his opponent.

Facing him was another boy, about thirteen, with a purple shirt on. He had blond hair and electric blue eyes, just like Thalia's.

Both were momentarily shocked, then the other boy sneered at Percy. "Who are you?"

Percy studied him. "I think you know that. Now what ugly am I fighting this time? You gonna turn into a Fury? Or are you one of those mentally retarded half-bloods working for Kronos?"

The other boy frowned and raised his sword a little higher. "Kronos? Don't you mean Saturn? Dark Lord of Time."

Percy had no clue what this kid was talking about, but he had this strange feeling about him - that the boy was dangerous in some way. That he shouldn't be alive.

"You never answered my first question. Who are you?" The boy looked harshly at him, his face stone cold.

Part of Percy wanted to pummel this guy down right now; who did he think he was? Another part knew better. "Percy. Percy Jackson." His half-blood radar was going crazy, like Percy had just revealed something to an enemy.

The boy glared before nodding slightly. "Jason Gr-"

But Percy never did get to find out what Jason's last name was, because a dark cloud formed above the two and suddenly crackled with electricity. Percy's mind went foggy for a second before he shook his head, clearing it.

He was in front of the Washington Memorial. There was a kid in a purple shirt in front of him, holding a coin and looking around, confused.

"Um...do I know you?" Percy asked.

The boy cocked his head, as if trying to remember a previous event. "No. I can't say we've met."

Percy nodded slowly. "Well. I'll be going."

The boy looked at him strangely, as if recognizing him. He raised an eyebrow. "Right." He flipped the coin in his hand, though it still remained a coin. Or maybe it was the Mist. Percy couldn't tell.

The two heroes turned around, each headed their own way to the task ahead of them.

Neither looked back at this strange encounter, and never once thought that their fates might be intertwined.

A/N: So I just got this little one-shot from a quote of Chiron's when he says that the gods tried not to let Romans and Greek encounter each other on quests, and if they somehow do, they gods wipe the half-blood's memories of that event away. This is just a chance encounter between Percy and Jason. I hope you enjoyed it!
