Here's a short little thing I wrote that's probably been done before. Oh well, this is my version. Note, it's not slash, just a strong friendship. Please rate and review.

"Remus . . . "

Remus Lupin awoke with a start. He sat straight up and noticed a pearly-white figure floating before him.

"Sirius?"

"Hello Remus."

"What are you -- but you're dead." Remus was stunned.

Sirius laughed his familiar bark-like laugh. "I am here to say goodbye to you before passing on."

"Sirius--"

He was stopped with a raised hand.

"There's one thing I must ask you to do, Remus."

"Anything Sirius, just name it."

"Watch over Harry; you're the last remaining link he has to James and Lily. You're the last father-like figure to him. Take care of him, Remus." It looked like tears were flowing down his cheeks as he spoke, but how was that possible when he's a ghost?

Remus nodded, "I will, Padfoot old friend."

Sirius smiled, "Thank you Moony."

"You're welcome," he whispered in response.

There was a moment of silence . . .

"I should be going now, Remus."

Tears started forming in Remus' eyes, "Do you really have to go?"

"Yes, but don't worry, we'll see each other again -- someday. For now, Harry needs you. We'll all be reunited someday, you, me, James, and Lily."

Remus blinked back tears, "I guess you're right."

Sirius smiled, "Goodbye Remus and remember, we'll always be watching over you." He disappeared into nothingness.

"Goodbye, Padfoot, my friend."
