Note: this story is based on the song "hope rides alone" by the protomen but i mixed it with the 1990's series "Road Rovers. i do not own road rovers nor the protomen.
No one was left who could remember how it happened, how the world fallen under darkness.
At least no one who could do anything. No one to oppose the cano-mutants, no one to challenge their power, or so General Parvo believed.
20 floors above the dark streets of the city Professor Shepherd lived in a run down tenement. An eccentric and brilliant man. Shepherd was a loner, a thinker, a man of ideas. Ideas forbidden in Parvo's society. The society for which he worked, the society in which he lived, the society that he would set free, and so Shepherd worked far into the night, when the watchful eyes of Parvo's soldiers weren't upon him. He'd set his skillful hands to the task of creating a hero to bring about a change, to create a creature to bring freedom, to create a dog to save the world.
7 dog years Shepherd worked and on a cold night in the year 2200, Scout the Road Rover was born. A perfect dog, an unbeatable warrior, hell-bent on destroying every evil standing between man and freedom, created for one purpose, to destroy Parvo's army of evil mutants.
Ready,willing , prepared to fight.
Scout walked towards Parvo's fortress and a small army of cano-mutants charged at him. People looked in awe as Scout fought bravely and as the smoke cleared. General Parvo rose
above the countless mutants remaining. Scout was wounded, bleeding all over , struggling to remain standing as Parvo ordered the final attack.
"The death of Scout the Road Rover."
The crowd had gathered there to watch him fall, to watch their hopes watched them beat him ,they watched them break him, They watched his last defence deployed.
There was not a man among them who would let himself be heard . But the crowd, from the collective fear, arose these broken words:
We are the dead.
We are the dead.
We are the dead.
THE END
