A/N: So I'm sorry about not updating on the summoner story. I will work on that. This one shot is a Sumia x Henry. This was requested by: Squidbaggerofwoomyandngyness. Please refer to their story: Stardust for more info on this Sumia's backstory. Here we go!
Sumia shot up from her sleeping state. All of her memories were coming back. The memories of her brother dying, the guilt she felt. In that moment she had a flashback.
Flashback
"Bye, Somayeh!", Sumia called to her brother. He was leaving to be a officer in the Ylissian army. Before he left, he ran over and twirled her around. Sumia would never get to old for that. "Goodbye, Sumia. I want you to know something.", he said, getting down on his knees. He was after all a much older and taller person that she was, even at fifteen.
"What is it?", Sumia asked. "I will always be watching you. You are a special girl.", he replied, looking her in the eyes. The happiness on his face was undeniable. "Why are telling me this all of the sudden?" "I just want you to know, okay?" "Okay. I love you Somayeh, you are the best big brother anyone could ever have. Come back soon!", she called as he walked out the door. The last thing she saw was his smile.
A week later…
"Sumia, we have grave news.", her mother said. "What is it?", Sumia asked worriedly. "Your brother died from a carriage accident.", she replied. "I'm very sorry.", she added.
Sumia stood there in shock. Then it dawned on her. It was her fault. She had wished he would come back soon, she had let him go. Tears fell down her face as she ran to her bedroom.
End of Flashback
Tears were falling like a waterfall on her face. Cordelia had brought her out of this sadness years ago. However, every year on his birthday she would have horrible nightmares. She would imagine what it was like the day he died. She couldn't stop the nightmares.
"Sumia?", Henry sleepily asked. "You should go back to sleep.", Sumia replied, holding back sobs. Henry flipped over and saw Sumia burying her face into her hands. He instantly shot up and put his hands on her shoulders. "Sumia, what's wrong?" "N-nothing." "Sumia, I know something is wrong, but if you don't want to share it then come here."
Henry pulled Sumia back down into a sleeping position and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close to him. By then Sumia was sobbing. "Shh shh, it's okay I'm here.", Henry cooed. Soothingly, he rubbed circles on her back. "Thank you Henry, even when I'm falling apart you still love me. I love you Henry.", Sumia confessed, between sobs and sniffles.
