So this is what came out of my head after Salvage. MY FEEELLLLIIINNNGGGSSS! I am sorry if this is really bad or whatever :D
"Wally," Artemis whispered huskily, her head resting against his firm chest as they lay together on the couch, "Can I ask you something?"
Wally looked down at the girl draped across his body, meeting her dark eyes as they peered up into his emerald ones. He ran his fingers through her blonde hair, answering as he twirled one of her golden locks around his finger.
"Anytime, Beautiful."
He was still adjusting to her impromptu decision to cut it a few months back. He had to say he thoroughly enjoyed it.
The use of her old nickname caused her to let out an undignified snort. Her expression changed however when she asked her question.
"Do you ever regret it?" she mumbled, wrapping her arms around his waist and shoving her forehead into the crook of his neck.
He gave her an amused look, "Regret what, Arty? Copying your paper when you weren't looking?" Wally teased, a wide smile spreading across his freckled face.
Artemis raised an eyebrow at her boyfriend, a disbelieving look on her face.
"You didn't."
He smirked. "What can I say," Wally drawled, stretching his arms over the back of the couch all while giving her a very suggestive look, "Still got the super-speed."
She rolled her eyes a little at the innuendo, untangling her bare legs from Wally's and pausing only for a second to give him a light slap to the back of the head, enjoying the indignant expression on his face as he rubbed the sore spot. She positioned herself on her knees facing him, just taking in the sight of her jubilant speedster. After a while, her gaze changed from amused to somber, her sparkling eyes darkening.
"Do you ever miss it?" She asked him seriously, all former traces of their joking conversation gone, "Being a hero, I mean."
He looked at her, momentarily surprised with this development. He had no idea what had brought this on. Wally leaned his head back, fingers interlocking around the back of his head. "Sometimes, I guess," he said, tilting his head toward her, "Why do you ask?"
Artemis sighed, gazing down into her hands, "I don't know.. I just feel like something's missing." She looked up, a wry smile forming on her otherwise troubled face. "Not that I regret moving in with you. Even if you never do any of your own work," she joked, flipping her blonde hair behind her back.
"Hey, that arrangement works both ways!" Wally stated indignantly, throwing his arms up, "Science genius right here! I help you too miss I'm- trilingual-or- something."
Wally then sighed and leaned forward, elbows on his thighs with his head in his hands. "I do miss being a hero. I miss saving people. Changing the world. Being a part of something bigger."
He glanced at Artemis, "As time-consuming and hard as college is, sometimes it just doesn't cut it."
"But this-" he gestured around the room, encompassing the decent sized apartment cluttered with dirty clothes and snack wrappers, "- this belongs to us. Being with you is something I wouldn't trade for anything."
They stared at each other, not needing to speak to convey the love they felt for each other. Artemis crawled back over the couch, straddling Wally and planting a sweet kiss on his lips.
After a lingering moment of silence, Artemis whispered evilly, "I really do miss seeing you in spandex though."
Wally moved his hands so that they rested on her hips, gazing up at her with his twinkling green eyes and his mischievous grin. His thumbs began drawing little hearts on her hips as he stated, "Now it's my turn to ask you a question."
"Why are you still wearing a shirt?"
