Hello my Name is Alistair Plaxton, I am one of the young apprentice archaeologists on this planet and this is my telling of what happened here, all the happiness that was felt and all the disasters that followed when we found them, there so many of them, they just seems to keep an coming and coming and they did nothing but slaughter. This is my report of what happened; I am logging this into the Imperium's archive so that future generations won't make the mistakes we did and hopefully shed some light on these strange creatures.

There is a small planet called Nectrogar, it was out on the edge of the known universe of the imperium; so not a lot is known about the planet at this time but we soon found out why there was such a lack of other species on this planet. Nectrogar is a beautiful planet; with rolling green hills; naturally clean water springs; crisp, clean air; the rustling trees that sounded like they are whispering to each other in the wind and at the time, home to three colonies of the Imperium.

The northern colony was a fuelling station ran by a few engineers stationed here to keep it operational, so that the Imperium could start to explore even deeper into space and try and find out more about the universe they were in. Also at the fuelling station were battle scarred Space Marines refuelling on their voyage back from deep dark space, they are on their way back to a planet around the centre of the Imperium to report back what they has found on a nearby planet regarding the imposing threat of the Tyranids.

There was a colony to the east and this colony comprised of Imperial Guardsmen, they were originally sent to this planet to scout it out to see if there was any danger that could oppose the Imperium originally. But after they reported back saying that it was all clear, they got stationed there to be as look outs for any danger that could move in from outside the Imperium's empire to try destroy or stifle their efforts. They usually sent out patrols over the planet to try and keep it in check and make sure no danger had emerged to thwart any of our work as archaeologist or to the rest of the Imperium.

The final colony to the West was my colony, it was made up of made up of archaeologists, we were on the planet to try and find out about the history of it; some farmers to produce enough supplies to feed all the colonies by using the beautiful land scape around us; a group of Imperial guards men that stay with us for a few days then return to their colony and some more arrive and finally some scientists to help see if the planet can have any more uses to the Imperium other than a look out post.

The reason though why they brought archaeologists to this planet was because of the, what we thought were stone at the time, pyramid type structure;, they seem to mainly be concentrated around the area we were in, so we were here to see if we could find out about the ancient civilisation that once lived here so long ago and now there settlement has now been overgrown with forestry and other vegetation. After three months of us scanning the planet and dig in spots where we thought we could find possible signs of previous life, we had found lots of buildings with strange glyphs all over the walls, which we assume now to be their language, and the layout of a basic city that was one here. However there was a worrying thought that kept surfacing among the archaeologists and that was where are the ancient civilisations bodies, there skeletons and so on, because this is such a perfect set up with no signs of war or battle that took place here, so why did they leave or just vanish from this place, it just didn't make sense to us.

We were nearly going to give up for the planet was so habitable it seemed strange that no species other than plants lived here, it just didn't make sense to us that we still couldn't find anything in terms of species remains ; but in the final day before we were due to end our expedition, we found something, in the side of one of the hills about 12 miles south of our colony, and on the edge of the city, on one of the pyramid structures we found a massive block in what looked like a doorway, as black at space itself, yet still so shiny, it looked like it had just been polished.

So we set up a dig site and dug all the vegetation way to try and get it back to the city layer to see if there was more to why this was here. All the dirt that we removed the farmers took to use on their crops and it worked fantastically on them, the crops seemed to grew faster and produced better quality produce than the normal soil. So whatever the block was it certainly added nutrients to the soil that was not in the rest of it over the planet. But as we dug it out, to our surprise we find that there were more of the same block there. After two weeks of digging out the pyramid be reached what looked like a stone layer like a court yard and could now fully see the size and shape of what this special pyramid has. As or the substance or which the door was made of, we had no idea what it was, we finally finished we s0tood back and looked at the pyramid for all its glory and prestige and it looked beautiful, but then again I am an archaeologist after all. About a third the way down it had what looked like turrets, and bellow that, on the sides there were rod looking items that looked like they had been used up a long time ago. But what was on top of the pyramid was also a mystery to us because there as a huge crystal shape substance on time in a cradle. It was emerald green in colour but had a composite of nothing that we had ever seen or heard of before; the rods on the side of this pyramid were also made of this substance but the green was much more faded.
