Mapleshade screamed,leaping for the rushing water that had consumed her kits."NO!" She cried,leaping into the river and pulling herself toward the small figures."Mom!Help!Mom!" A tiny,hoarse,voice echoed."Im coming!" She whispered,panting as she tried her best to swim in the monsterous river."MOM!" The tiny kits sunk down,the river carrying them away."Wait!No!Please!" Mapleshade cried,pushing herself forward."Please…" She whispered,depression hanging off her voice."STARCLAN WHY!GIVE ME ANOTHER CHANCE!" She yowled to the kits terror filled faces swept through her mind."No…" She cried,tears splashing onto the dry Green-leaf slowly climbed all the way out of the river,ready to tell her mate about the tragedy.
As she pad toward Thunderclan,she wondered how Appledusk was going to heart was still broken,through all the loss.Is this all really worth it? She thought to herself.Being exiled from my birthclan,shunned and forbidden to grow old where I learned all that made me a warrior? She sighed,scenting the soon recognized the Riverclan border and smiled,stepping into it."Mapleshade?" She heard a happy purr,and smiled even wider."Appledusk!" She exclaimed,rubbing against the young tom."Hello Mapleshade!Where are the kits?" He pulled away,licking her heart shattered,as his warm tongue swept across her tortoiseshell smile vanished."A-appledusk…..They died…drowned..in the so sorry.." She whispered,staring at her paws."What?" He frowned,tears filling his eyes."My kits!" He cried,collapsing on the ground,anger soon filling his body."YOU MOUSE-BRAIN!" He screeched,his claws sliding out."W-what?Appledusk-" She stood there in shock as he cut her off."YOU MOUSE-BRAIN!GET AWAY FROM ME!YOU KILLED OUR KITS!ARE YOU SO FOOLISH,YOU CAN'T LEAD KITS ACROSS THE BORDER WITHOUT DROWNING THEM?" He snarled,stepping dangerously close to her face."A-appledusk im sorry….T-they fell in!" She squeaked,shaking."YOUR NOT JOINING MY CLAN!YOU ARE A FOOLISH PIECE OF FOX-DUNG,GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!" He yowled,his voice trembling with anger and sadness."Im so sorry.." She whispered,tears streaking her face."J-just leave.." He muttered,padding away."W-wait…wait.."
