She's got to have done it by now. What the hell is taking so long?

Emma was half a block away from the Mayor's office at this point, having waited long enough for the signal that the hand-off had happened as planned.

Did something go wrong?

Up the steps, into the front door and around the corner she turned, vacillating between extreme annoyance and slight worry about her nemesis-turned-partner.

She should have given me the signal by now if Robin Hood had the decoy heart.

For the split second after she burst through Regina's office doors, she was infuriated. She took in the sight of dark hair splayed out across the stone desk, a warm cheek pressed flat against it.

She's taking a god damn nap? Now?

Emma took two, three steps forward, fully intending to unceremoniously wake up the sleeping brunette and demand answers before she heard so softly.

No, it couldn't…

One more, lighter, step. There is was again.

"Emma…"

It was only a contented sigh, but the blond heard the word loud and clear. She paused a moment to let that feeling sink in.

When she finally startled the sleeping woman into consciousness, it was with a smug grin sweeping across her lips.
