Blu awoke in the darkness of his hollow. He presumed it was still dark, because the lights in the cage were off. He yawned as he tried to go back to sleep. Next time he awoke the lights were lit. He got up and stretched before peeking outside. Same as it was when he met the love of his life.
Blu flew down onto the ground. He walked towards the place Tulio left fruit for him and Jewel. Just as he expected, two mangoes. He carefully picked them up with his beak and flew towards Jewel's hollow. She was sleeping peacefully, as he expected. He sat down the juiciest mango in the nest.
Smiling at Jewel, he left with his mango. Upon his arrival Blu began eating. Blu hadn't eaten anything since yesterday morning. He had quickly finished the mango, wishing he had slowed down because it tasted to good. Blu decided he would take a nap. As he got comfortable Blu said "Boy, I sure am getting lazy."
He rested for a good half-hour until he heard a noise. He peered out of his hollow to see nothing. Sighing he turned around and saw Jewel smiling at him. Blu screamed as he fell out of his nest. He fell on a bunch of leaves. "Thank goodness for these leaves." Blu muttered.
He looked up at Jewel, who was laughing uncontrollably. Blu got up and flew to his hollow. As he arrived Jewel was still laughing. She wiped a tear from her eye as Blu laughed too. They both laughed for a long while. When they stopped Blu said, "my belly hurts!" Jewel laughed again then said the same thing.
They both looked each other in the eyes, smiling. "Jewel I have to ask you something very important." Blu said.
"What is it?" Jewel asked.
I love you so much and I want to be with you forever! Blu said in his mind. "Jewel I really love you. I love you so much that I would jump out of a plane for you. Not that I didn't." Blu said sheepishly. He flinched as he expected Jewel to attack him. But that didn't happen. Instead Jewel laughed.
"Oh Blu. I love you a lot as well. Ever since you came to save me at Carnival, I didn't see you as a nerdy pet..." Jewel said.
"Gee, thanks." Blu muttered.
"...But instead I saw you as a handsome, brave, and smart macaw. Ever since then I loved you, even though I was afraid to admit it." Jewel said. "I want to be with you forever, and someday have chicks with you." Jewel said to a blushing Blu.
"I want the same thing, my love." Blu said. The birds then embraced each other in a long hug, followed by a kiss. For the next two weeks Tulio checked Jewel's injured wing. It had been making excellent progress, and right before week 3, Tulio announced that Jewel's wing was completely healed.
The next morning Blu and Jewel were standing on the balcony with Linda and Tulio. Tulio lifted Jewel up, and Jewel spread her wings and began to fly. Blu did his handshake woth Linda and flew off behind Jewel. Their destination was the jungle, where eventually they would have chicks, and make new friends, as well as new enemies.
The lovebirds joined into a song with the rest of the Jungle. The same song Blu heard 17 years ago, when he was a baby.
Finally I finished chapter 1's remake. Anyway I am working on a new chapter for this story. No spoilers though. :p. Anyway hope you enjoyed the remake!
