Hello, this is my first Fate Crossover, so please don't judge me.
As usual, I don't own any of the characters in this story. They belong to their respective owners.
Enjoy!
The Holy Grail War.
A ritual where seven mages summon seven servants to fight to the death. The last one left standing gets to have the ultimate prize: The Greater Grail. An ancient omnipotent wish granter sought by all mages. However, after the Fuyuki Grail War, the Greater Grail vanished.
Years later, it has reemerged under the hands of Yggdmillenia, one of the many magus clans left. This clan has declared war on the mage's association after years of disgrace and slander.
This is the beginning of a Great Holy Grail War. Only this time, when seven servants unite under a color, seven more servants are summoned to oppose them. An all-out war is inevitable between them.
But everything is about to be changed from a magic experiment.
Kazuki rushed through the hallways, his arms full of with the box of manuscripts he is carrying. His breath is ragged but filled with excitement. It was about the experiment they were going to perform when he arrives.
If this succeeds, it can revolutionize the Grail War.
He bumped into a large man with sunglasses, knocking him down. His precious cargo dropped from his hands and littered the floor.
"Oh, crap! I'm so sorry, sir. I was in a rush," Kazuki scrambled to gather his things.
"Kids these days," The man sighed as he placed a vial on a ledge and began helping him with his things. Then he noticed what is on the sheets of paper they are. "What's with all the manga and anime? Has the Clocktower made an otaku club now?"
"We get that a lot, but they're for an experiment that I'm late for," Kazuki picked up a stack showing the illustration of Shaman King Vol.1 wrapped in a plastic foil. "Also, they are not just manga. They are the original copies drawn and written by the owners. Very painful to acquire. Extremely valuable might I add, so please be careful."
"What kind of experiment requires something like that?" The man was about to hand him the manuscript for an anime called Sword Art Online when he stiffened. "Wait… are you one of those kids who everybody around here calls…"
"Crazy for attempting such a ludicrous idea?" Kazuki finished, snatching the manuscript from his hand. "Yes, we are called that too. Can't lie and say that we aren't sick of it, but it will be worth it in the end."
"From what I heard, this isn't how the system works."
"Or maybe the conditions have to be right," Kazuki countered. Then he sighed. "Look, I get it, it's crazy. But we aren't going to give up. If we are wrong we're wrong. But if we're right, this could change everything."
"I can tell that you aren't going to stop," The man smirked. He picked up the vial. "Won't say I told you so. Well, later."
"Wait!" He paused. "Is that a juvenile hydra?"
"Yes?"
"That's a one-of-a-kind item! Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking?"
"Eh. I got it as an advance payment for a job," He replied.
"Job? What job are you going to need that for…" Kazuki's eyes widened in realization. "Wait, I've been hearing that about that…"
"Guess it isn't much of a secret," He rubbed the back of his hand. "Yes. I am participating in The Great Holy Grail War."
"Isn't it that event where fourteen servants are summoned instead of the usual seven?"
"Yes."
Kazuki just looked at him for a moment, shocked.
Then…
"THAT IS SO AWESOME!"
"Kid, I don't know what you are hearing. But the war isn't a place for…"
"I don't care about the Grail or any of the fighting! What class are you planning on summoning?!"He got starry-eyed as he zipped around him. "Are you planning on summoning a Caster? No, a lancer? Well, how about-"
"Wait for just a second!" He held up both of his hands. "That's what got you worked up?!"
"YES! Summoning is my favorite subject! That's why we started this experiment! We push the boundaries of magecraft! If people think we are crazy, then they can throw as many insults as they want at us!"
He just stood there. Stunned by his exuberance. Then he gave a heartily laugh.
"Okay kid, now I definitely hope that you succeed! But right now I've got to go, see you around - what's your name?"
"Kazuki. How about you?"
"Kairi Sisigou."
What they didn't know is that they were on their way to the same destination.
Kazuki arrived in Romania at the same time Sisigou did, not that they met each other. Nor did they even know. He hailed a cab the second he stepped out of the airport. After telling the cab driver his destination, he sat down and began to ruminate.
He remembered the times where his classmates would laugh at his idea. It used to hurt him a lot, but when he met his friends, he began to care less. If they want to laugh, let them laugh. They will prove them wrong when they succeed, providing that it won't end in another failure.
The cab dropped him off a dirt path where two of his colleagues await him. A girl in her teens wearing a white blazer and a skirt. Her blue eyes gazed out from behind her black bangs with eagerness.
Standing beside her is a guy wearing a blue school uniform. Behind his back is an Iai sword etched with runes.
Their appearance reminded him of certain characters.
"Mato! Reki!"
"Kazuki," Reki grinned as he walked forward to help him with the boxes. "You got here just in time! We were worried that you were going to be late again."
"Sorry for the delay," Kazuki explained as they walked down the path. "But guess what! I met a guy participating in the Great Holy Grail War!"
"Really!" Mato shrieked in excitement behind them while Reki looked mortified.
"Tell me you didn't tell anyone that we knew about that!" He pleaded.
"Relax, Sisigou didn't seem to be the type to turn us in," Kazuki thought for a moment. "But considering that he's a bounty hunter from what it looked like, he most likely would."
"Great," Reki groaned. Palming his hand.
"Come it can't be- Reki what's that on your hand?" Kazuki stopped walking and looked at him with concern.
Reki stopped and brought his hand, the back facing him. On his hand is a blue image of two crossing swords under an arch. This could be mistaken for a tattoo, but this is a mark mandatory to anyone participating in a Holy Grail War.
This is the mark of a master.
"Oh, this? Funny thing, it happened when we arrived in Romania, it might be a fluke…"
"It isn't a fluke," Kazuki took off his glove and showed them his. It is the image of a top hat on top of a mask with a flaming eye. "I got mine on the plane over here."
They turned to Mato, who held up her right hand. It showed a star cracked into three pieces.
"Yep. Me too!" She cheerfully replied.
"The others?" Kazuki asked.
"Some of them have the same color as ours," Reki said, frowning. "But several others have theirs in gold."
"You think we are going to be fighting each other?" Kazuki asked.
"If this succeeds," Reki frowned. "I mean, we only meant to conduct an experiment, not to take part in an actual war."
"Guess we'll see." They arrived at a clearing. Four more people await them, each with a mark of their own.
Oda, a white-haired teen sat in a wheelchair. His chest is exposed revealing bandages wrapped around his muscled torso. He used to be a top student in combat class before his accident. A skull and crossbones his symbol.
Ryogo is a young woman wearing a black biker's outfit. Her brown hair fell to her shoulders. She was the delivery girl for the mage's association before being nearly decapitated by a bad package. Her symbol is a tree with three branches.
Tomoko has amber eyes and black hair reaching down her back. Her hand is slung in a cast from when she broke it over an unfortunate soul who happened to be picking on her brother back then. Her symbol is a claw with three talons.
Hiroyuki, a young man their age with long hair and headphones. His blazer is opened up exposing his chest and his pants looked like they went through a mudslide. Back in their academy days, he was known as a slacker. But he is familiar in the arts of summoning nature spirits. On his hand are three blue fangs.
"Yo," Hiroyuki waved. "What took you so long?"
"Long story, you can hear it from them," Kazuki pointed at Mato and Reki. He looked around, frowning. "Where are the others?"
"They got impatient and took off," Tomoko said in a dark tone. "One of them said that if they had to fight, they wouldn't want to start a bloodbath right off the bat."
"One of them brought some catalysts before you did," Oda narrowed his eyes. "We only intended to do seven. But it seems that things have changed."
"Then we better get started," Ryogo stated. "Did you bring the catalysts.
"It's been a pain to get them," Kazuki placed the box in front of him. "Take one and get to the circles."
Each of them picked out a catalyst and walked to a circular formation of summoning circles. Oda had to be pushed by Mato to his. After making sure that they are in the right place, they stepped back and got into a similar formation.
"Now if I am correct," Kazuki stated. "The modified summoning circles should, in fact, be based on the same one that Masters used to summon Servants from literature. If this works, we could…"
"Time out Einstein," Hiroyuki interrupted before he can go on rambling."You've got a good set up here. Just focus on the here and now, and believe, man."
"Yes, rambling on isn't going to soothe your nerves," Oda pointed out grinning. "This is going to work."
"I may have zero confidence in this," Tomoko waved in the air. "But if it will get those fools back at the clocktower to shut up, then this will be worth it."
"Same here," Ryogo chimed in.
"Likewise," Reki said.
"That's the spirit everyone!" Mato cheered.
Kazuki looked at his friends, or nearly half of them, and smiled.
"Thank you, everyone," He became serious. "Now then, let us get started. REmember the color, that may be the key here."
They turned to their respective circles and held out their hands. They began to chant.
Let silver and steel be the essence,
Let stone and the Archduke of contracts be the foundation,
Let blue be the color I pay tribute to,
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall,
Let the four cardinal gates close,
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the kingdom rotate,
The circles begin to glow. It grew even brighter as they continued the chant.
Let it be filled. Again, Again, Again. Again
Let it be filled fivefold for every turn, simply breaking asunder with everything.
They were so focused that they didn't notice what is happening to their bodies. The same light from the summoning circle surrounded them, and likewise, it glowed brighter as they finished the chant.
From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power,
come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!
Then the world exploded around them in light.
The light died down, and the servants of blue stood in place of their masters.
"We have heard your call and-" Suddenly they realized that they were the only ones on the field.
"What the heck?!" A guy in a black long coat exclaimed. On his back are two swords. "Where are our masters?"
"Ain't that a mystery sonny?" A man that dwarfed them spoke. He wore a black bandanna and a white cape with a mustached jolly roger on the back. Like the symbol, he bore a similar stache.
"Looks like we got our master's spell slots," A woman with the longest hair of the group pointed out.
They looked down and saw that they had their master's spell slots. Why they had them was anyone's guess.
"Before we wonder about the situation, I think it's best that we introduce ourselves," A teen wearing a black outfit with a long coat and Cuban heels spoke up. His face is covered by a white bird mask and hands with red gloves. "I am Assassin of Blue. But you can call me Joker."
"Agreed, I would like to get to know my friends before I fight," The swordsman said. "I am the Saber of Blue. My real name is Kazuto Kirigaya. But you can call me Kirito."
"Kirito, eh?" A kid with orange headphones asked. "Is that derived from your own name? Quite unimaginative."
"Hey! Got a better suggestion kid?!" Kirito snapped.
"I'll let you know when I do," He grinned. "I am the Caster of Blue. But you can call me Yoh Asakura. Please to meet you."
"Just make sure you act your age," The long-haired woman asked. "While I don't like this, I am able to work with you all. I am the Berserker of Blue. But you can call me Velvet Crowe."
"It's obvious from the weapon that I am the Lancer of Blue," The old man held up his Bisento, which is a massive naginata. "My real name is Edward Newgate. But most people call me White Beard."
"Shouldn't it be White stache?" Yoh asked, looking at his stache quizzically. "I mean, it's not like that's a beard."
"Tell that to the people who first made my wanted poster."
"Moving on," Velvet gestured to the remaining two servants. None of them have said a word.
The girl wore a black long coat with a white star in the back. She lowered her hood and looked at them with blue eyes. The iris's have rings around them.
"Archer of Blue." She simply replied. "Black Rock Shooter."
"Black Rock Shooter?" Kirito looked at her puzzled. "Is that a username."
She didn't reply. She only gestured toward the last servant. She wore a black one-suit bikers outfit. Her helmet is fashioned to have cat motifs. Unlike the others, she held up a piece of paper.
Rider of Blue
Celty Sturluson
Can't talk
"Why is that?" Kirito asked.
She responded by taking off her helmet. What they saw made their eyes widen in surprise. Where a head used to be is now a severed neck with darkness drifting like smoke.
"What are you?" Velvet asked.
"Likely a Dullahan," Yoh responded. "Ana once mentioned these when we came to Ireland for training. Those guys aren't to be messed with."
"Noted," Kirito nodded at Celty, who put her helmet back on. "Now what do we do next? Should we find our masters?"
"I believe I know what became of them."
Everyone turned to the owner of the voice. Walking towards them is a silver-haired young man. He wore a matching suit and on his shoulder rested a red Wagasa. He smiled at the Servants of Blue.
"My class is Ruler of Blue. But my real name is Yashiro Isana, the silver king. But you can call me Shiro. As my name implies, I have been sent to oversee this faction. I also have an idea about what happened to your masters.
Ruler of White gazed at the assembled servants. He wore a Victorian outfit that made him look like a king chess piece. A purple and black cloak covered his body and a helmet covered his face. He spoke with a reverb, masking his voice.
"Saber of White," A red-haired woman nodded. She wore armor with a herculean cross.
"Lancer of White," A brunette young man nodded. He wore a purple hoodie underneath a white long coat. One of his eyes is green the other a red-cross. On his back is a sword with a similar eye at the hilt.
"Rider of White," A silver-haired boy wearing a white mechanic uniform nodded eagerly. His smile would have lit up the room. On his hips are a pair of rifles that looked to be powered by magic.
"Berserker of White," A snow white haired girl nodded with an insane look in her eyes. She wore a one-piece suit that is a darker color of white. They would've mistaken her for being naked if it weren't for the red rings on her body.
"Assassin of White," A raven-haired teen nodded his consent. He wore a black school uniform opened up to reveal a white blazer. On his left hand is a black glove. His eyes had the eyes of the grim reaper itself.
"Caster of White," A golden-haired young man nodded reluctantly. His hair is tied into a braid. The attire consisted of a black uniform with a red coat. The Flamel symbol showed on the back. White gloves covered his hands.
"Archer of White," A young teen with dark blue hair nodded. His entire body is covered by a black suit. His feet are covered by high black shoes. In his back pocket is a black gun.
"As you all know, we are the White faction," He declared. "We are now at war with three other factions. One of which is similar to ours. This is an advantage for us because this will not end until every servant but one is fallen. Preparation takes priority, otherwise, we will be like rats walking into a trap."
He spread his arms wide to the sky.
"We will begin our fight when we are ready! For the only people who can kill are those who are prepared to be killed themselves!"
Darnic grinned at the sight of the newly summoned servants. Then he suddenly had a feeling that caused him some discomfort.
This feeling...it can't be…
"Something wrong Darnic?" Lancer of Black asked from his throne. His real name is Vlad Tepes ii, the impaler prince.
"Just now my liege… it's like two more factions besides red that entered the war."
"Is that even possible?" He asked, a surprised expression on his face. Even if he has the home advantage, the thought of fighting more servants and masters will be more difficult. They're prepared to fight only seven more servants.
"I don't know my liege," Darnic admitted. "Shall I send people to investigate?"
"Do so," Vlad ordered. "Considering that this is a Grail War, we have to expect the unexpected."
"Consider it done my Liege," Darnic took his leave.
IF there are more servants, then he will have to alter his plans. But to do that, he needs to know who the other parties are and their capabilities.
Shirou was kneeling before the altar in the church when his servant materialized behind him.
"Master," Assassin of Red, known by her real name as Semiramis, wise queen of Assyria. "It would appear we have two more factions."
This took the priest by surprise. "Is that so?"
"I didn't know that there could be more factions involved in this."
"Neither did I," Shirou got up. "This doesn't change our plans, but we should check just in case. Could you send Caster to check it out? He might be -"
"Already Heard!" Caster, or rather Shakespeare, announced himself as he banged the gates open. "Tis but an interesting turn of events! Two more armies on the horizon turning a simple conflict into a war worthy of observation!"
Semiramis sighed, getting irritated by his antics. "Just go already."
Shirou watched the exchange with a bemused expression.
Jeanne D'Arc perked up from her suitcase and looked out the window.
"What was that?" She asked. "Did I sense more Rulers? More Factions? What is going on in this war?"
