LUCKY CHARM
This was it my first mission as Lt. Colonel and I was as
nervous as all hell. I couldn't stop my hands from shaking.
I got all my gear together and left the locker room. Istopped by Daniels office
and to pick him up. I told him it was time to go. He was engrossed in a book but still got up and picked up his backpack and followed me out.
At the gateroom I was met by my former CO and just turned
General. I smiled as the gate came alive.
Daniel walked in and was adjusting his backpack and caught me
smiling at him. He turned to see who I was smiling at and ducked his
head down thinking he had just stepped into something other then
friendship. He cleared his throat and walked over to Teal'c.
Still staring at me Jack said, "good luck SG1 you have a go".
Teal'c walked up the ramp and was followed by Daniel. I was about
to step onto the ramp when General O'Neill stopped me and whispered
in my ear to check my pocket.
He walked away and I started up the ramp and stopped. I
unzipped my pocket and found a four leaf clover and note in his
writing.
"You were my good luck charm all these years and you kept me
safe. I hope this will keep you safe and bring you always back home
to me.
I gasped and turned and looked for him. He was up at the
control room. I could see a ghost of a smile on his face and I
smiled and saluted.
All I needed to know was that he would be here to greet me when I
got back and that with this lucky charm I would be safe.
