Author's Note: This is just a little drabble-type thing that I thought of when I was playing Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. I was fishing and my stamina got low so I had Molly start pigging out on mushrooms. And then I imagined what it must have been like from Toby's point of view…

I do not own any rights to Harvest Moon. Those belong to Natsume, Marvelous Interactive, and the rest…

Toby liked to sleep. He retired early in the evening and slept until morning had all but fled. Sometimes he could even be found napping with his fishing pole in hand.

Toby liked to be lazy. He thought being a fisherman suited him best because it allowed him to relax. Not that he shirked, for he caught many fish every day.

Toby wasn't startled easily. He possessed, in fact, a rather calm personality. He didn't act rashly. Sudden, rough bites on his fishing line didn't surprise him and neither did many other things.

Toby was a nice person. He liked other people because they all had their own passions and that made them interesting.

Therefore, when the new rancher asked him if she could share the end of the dock with him, he smiled pleasantly and nodded.

Molly caught all kinds of fish. Goby and horse mackerel and sardine and even an octopus!

Toby caught fish as well. Puffer fish and sea bream and mackerel and saury.

After Molly had caught another sardine, Toby began to hear a strange popping sound.

Pop. Pop. Pop. Pop.

Turning his head slowly, as was his way, Toby looked at the farmer beside him. Her gloved hand moved rapidly from the rucksack around her waist to her small, pink mouth.

He opened his eyes in astonishment and, for the first time since Molly had joined him, he spoke: "You like mushrooms…?"

AN: So… This ended up going in a completely different direction than I had imagined it too… But that's okay, I guess. I feel like this text should be placed in a children's picture book, though. This was meant to be funny, but when I reread it, it doesn't seem that way to me. Oh well. I hope I didn't waste too much of your time with this.
