'That damn idiot!' I thought rushing to the front desk of the hospital.
The day before Natsu decided to go on a quest with Happy, Lucy, Wendy and Carla.
'I'll be back before you know it! I'm planning something special for you tomorrow night so be ready at 6:30 sharp. Kaay?' He smiled rushing out of the guild doors.
'Oh Natsu... If only I hadn't let you go.' I thought as a silent tear rolled down my face.
The halls I was led down was like a maze that never ended.
The doctor that was monitoring him tried to tell me what's wrong with my Natsu.
Finally we got to the door.
The door I was dreading to walk through.
The door opened as I made my face as unemotional as possible
I sat on the chair near his bed and held his hand possibly too tight.
"Natsu…" I breathed, tears rolling down my face.
"Hey. Don't cry. I'm gonna be alright just you wait!" I smiled at how strong willed he was.
"You better live you bastard!" I clenched my teeth. "Remember those kids we're gonna have. Remember the good life we're gonna have together! Please remember…"
"Heh... You think I could forget about that so easily? What about the house on the hillside so our children would be able to get the best view out? And even when our kids grow up and move out we'll stay there forever!" He grinned
"Forever and always..." We shared a quick laugh before an idea popped into my head.
I ran out of the room leaving a confused Natsu.
I gathered the nurses who were looking after him and told them my plan.
We all gathered in his small room as I called up the Chaplin and asked him to recite a couple of verses.
I went to borrow some rings from the couple who were in the room next to us telling them what I was planning.
When I got back to Natsu's room he finally caught on.
Everybody was laughing and it was the happiest time I could think of.
I looked into Natsu's eyes and said "I want you forever, forever and always... Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together, but always remember, whether happy or sad or whatever, we still love each other... Forever and always..."
I chuckled a bit at the memory of when Natsu declared that was going to be our inside joke slipping the ring on his finger.
I finished my vows and noticed his beeps of his heart monitor was getting too slow.
His voice was almost too low, as he said "I love you forever, forever and always... Please just remember even if I'm not there... I'll always love you, forever and always..."
He slipped the ring onto my finger just as his heart slowed down too much.
His hand slipped from mine as the heart monitor let out this long toneless beep.
Tears fell down my face as I broke down.
"Mr Fullbuster we have-"
"Dragneel." I cut the nurse off. "I'm Gray Dragneel. Not Fullbuster."
"I'm sorry. Mr Dragneel we have to take him to the morgue now."
My body was shaking as reality struck me.
Natsu was dead.
He wasn't coming back.
"Please... Let me say goodbye to him." I sobbed.
"We'll give you 5 minutes..." The nurse said backing out of the room.
"Natsu... I love you." I whispered leaning down and kissing the pale corpse.
I held his hand to my face and savoured the last bit of warmth he would give off.
I was going to miss him.
I was going to miss his scent.
I was going to miss the soft kisses Natsu would give me.
I was going to miss waking up to that special smile that only I got to see.
I was going to miss everything.
I kissed the hand I was holding before letting go and walking out.
