I've been playing Final Fantasy IX again, and if you know me, you know how much I love that game ^^ Especially this couple! This idea popped into my head while I was eating lunch. I haven't written anything in a long time (Blame school for that .) and it's been even longer since I've written anything FF9. So, hopefully this is the start of many more! I hope you like this lil drabble.

He could be so unbelievable sometimes.

It was well past midnight, and Garnet was stewing in anger under her sheets, unable to sleep. The very person who induced this irritation was snoring lightly right beside her.

She couldn't believe his antics lately. She expected that he wouldn't adjust to castle life for some time, but this was ridiculous.

"Nhm… Why're ya so bossy, Rusty…" He sleep-talked, before continuing to snore lightly. Just listening to this made her even angrier.

She rolled to her side, her back facing Zidane. She didn't want to even look at him right now – she'd told him a million times not to ask so irresponsibly! He was living in a royal castle now, and had no excuses to act the way he did.

"… Shu'dup, Blank… zzz…"

She admitted that he had said sorry countless times. He'd say the same thing every time - "I can't suddenly change." It was this that always made her lower her voice and forgive him. But he was being ludicrous! He had to be told or else he'd keep acting up. Surely Baku taught him some manners, right?

"Zzz… Why're there so many damn forks…"

Garnet scowled. That was the very attitude that got him in trouble with the nobles when they visited last week. But that wasn't the only thing that made her angry at him. Some of the other things he'd done…

His snoring and talking continued to agitate her, and she threw her pillow over her head in a bleak attempt to stop the noise. Why couldn't he just stop complaining and follow the rules? Garnet found it hard to comprehend. She had to admit his upbringing was half the reason he couldn't sit properly at dinner, but she also knew half of it was his attitude. And she'd had enough.

"Zzz… zzz… Dagger…"

Tomorrow he would be told; properly. No more getting away with his tricks.

"… My… zzz…"

No more weaselling his way out with the same old excuse.

"Bring me my… zzz…"

And certainly no more profanities when there a guests. Or even better; period. She was sick of his vulgar language, too. She shook her head. That Zidane-

"Bring my beloved Dagger to me… zzz..."

She paused from her thoughts, and took a moment to soak in what he just said. Letting go of the pillow around her ears, she turned her body to face Zidane. His snoring had ceased, and he lay there with his hand outreached.

Garnet felt a smile tug at her lips. She reached her left hand out and placed it in his. His hand twitched slightly, and she let out a sigh.

She'd almost forgotten what made her fall so madly in love with him.

Sure, he could be unbelievable sometimes, but it was to be expected. He wasn't used to living with so many rules and regulations; perhaps she should cut him some slack.

She shifted a little closer to his sleeping body, feeling warmer already. Sure, she thought, he could be annoying, rude, immature… She knew he could be so childish sometimes. But he was a sweet and kind-hearted person. Who cares if he didn't know anything about royal living? He was right; he can't suddenly change. And maybe she didn't want him to.

She kissed him on his nose. She didn't want him any other way.

I can't get enough of these two. Plus I'm a total sucker for the mushy stuff. I hope ya liked it! Please leave a review on your way out! ^^
