Violet eyes staring back at him. Violet eyes, which he hated. She was such a pretty girl, with her auburn hair and violet eyes. So why did he hate her? Is it because of their paths, she being somebody and he being nobody. Paths like theirs don't cross very often, and when they do, it becomes an explosion, bright and illuminating all the darkness there is.
But there is no darkness within her. Only genuine emotions, that girl can't hate, she can't lie, she can only love and forgive. Unlike him, despite his sunny appearance he shows sins, hatred, rage, lying. Those were his characteristics. They belonged to Namine too.
He wasn't like Sora, with smiles of sunshine and eyes warm and genuine. He didn't have that dimple, and that laughter that reminded people of summer. Sora was summer, carefree and innocent. He was winter, cold having lived in darkness so much, he found the sun burning and tormenting him.
So why was he drawn to this girl, whose essence resembled one of summer?
Namine should be the one for him. Namine who is the Ice Princess, the girl who is twirling around the snow, whispering lies of love in the hearts of men. Namine whose dishonesty, hatred, jealousy, and lust make her his double. She is the Winter Queen, beautiful and dangerous at once.
But it is Kairi, who he craves. She is a pretty girl. She is so pretty, it seems that she is spun out of sugar. A candy girl. Delicious and innocent. She is so pretty, she must be devoured.
So he plays the part of the wolf and lures her in. Little Red falls for the Big Bad Wolf. A twisted fairytale. That is how their lives are meant to be. So when he killed them, Sora and Namine, he felt no remorse. He's a sinner and that's what sinners do.
She leans into him now, and he notes that she isn't even the slightest bit uncomfortable with his blood stained hands. She looks up at him with those violet eyes, and he captures her lips. When they break away, he looks at her once more and decides; maybe she isn't as sweet as he thought her to be.
Summer does have its own form of darkness.
And that comes in the form of Kairi.
He smiles, as she whispers his name, knowing whatever words escape her lips are honest, genuine and kind. "Roxas, I love you."
"I love you too."
She does not have to know he's lying. She is such a pretty girl, after all. If her candy heart melts, it would be a waste. But it is a candy heart, it was meant to be devoured into.
It's such a shame, she's such a pretty girl dipped in sin.
