Jesse & Unicycle

"Why so sullen, man?" Wendell Blackwood, better known by his peers as Unicycle, watched as one of the new Trebles sat gloomily on the parapet.

"Nothing. Just getting a breather." Jesse answered automatically, eyes flicking around the pool, as if looking for someone. After the verdict announcement everybody dispersed to their own, Bellas being the first to leave, followed closely by the Harmonics.

The Riff-Off was a huge success for the Treblemakers, but Jesse wasn't feeling the victory. He himself might have agreed that the win belonged to the girls' team but Jesse still felt hurt from Beca's blatant public rejection. He couldn't figure her out. They met in a slightly unorthodox way, what with him singing to her, but then it seemed so definite to him that fate was throwing them together. She unknowingly enthralled him and the fact that Beca so steadfastly ignored all of Jesse's hints seemed only to encourage him.

Jesse wasn't the one to give up easily, but even he was starting to think he was into Beca for all the wrong reasons. These days Jesse Swanson was ready to admit he felt a little lost.

Wendell just smirked at Jesse's introspective mood. He quite liked the freshman. That kind of boy who was the epitome of every girl's dream. Wendell also as everyone who had eyes knew that the teenager had the hots for a feisty new Bella. The girl had spunk. But Unicycle suspected that this girl wasn't one to fall for such a pushy and seemingly-too-perfect-guy.

Wendell didn't need to follow Jesse's look to know that he watched the shadows which hid the Bellas' departure. The junior parked himself on the balustrade and bumped Jesse's shoulder.

"Jesse boy, you need to take your mind off that girl." Uni then smugly put his hand on the nape of the boy's neck and pulled him into a bruising kiss. He enjoyed the sudden gasp Jesse uttered just a second before their lips crushed together.

Jesse's mind was reeling as he tried to comprehend the situation, but hot scorching lips literally took his breath away.
