It was a normal, peaceful day in America's house.
"Git!"
"Bushy eyebrows!"
"Hamburgers for brains!"
"Well at least I can make a decent meal! You couldn't cook even if your life depended on it!"
"Why you arrogant, piece of-!"
"Canada-nii, what are they doing?"
Canada sighed, looking at the little boy blinking at him curiously with his chocolate brown eyes. He smiled.
"Nothing, Philippines," he replied. "They're just doing their daily arguing, this usually happens whenever they meet… Ah, look you got maple syrup all over your face, here let me wipe it…"
Philippines pouted as Canada used his handkerchief to wipe out the sweet, sticky residue on his cheeks; he was always annoyed whenever older countries treated him like a little kid, sure he wasn't an independent country yet. But he will be after ten years, his new big brother promised him.
Speaking of which…
"Why do America-nii and England-nii fight in the first place?" he asked.
"They just do."
"Why?"
"It's a long story."
"They look like they're going take a long time in arguing, anyway," said Philippines, and it was true. America and England looked too concentrated on whatever they were shouting about at the moment to notice the two other countries. Philippines drank the last of his milk, and then looked at Canada. "So what's the reason in why they fight a lot?"
Canada sighed again.
"Well, to cut the story short," he said. "They used to be really close, but they started to fight and went their own separate ways. Now they don't get along as much as they used to."
They used to be really close.
Philippines blinked; it reminded him of a situation that wasn't really uncommon whenever he went out. He sometimes observed it with people, what was it again?
… They started to fight.
He couldn't remember. It wasn't really rare in people; even before Spain came, it was already there. He remembered two of China's traders fighting once because of the same reason.
Don't get along as much as they used to.
… Oh, now he remembered!
"So they're a married couple getting a divorce?" he asked, he was against the idea of divorce, but America never seemed to mind. So maybe England didn't mind as well. Besides, he always seen couples that broke up bickering about whatever.
Their stories were always the same, if not, similar; they used to be together, then they fought, and then they separated, then if they ever see each other… they usually fight again (sometimes they even act weird...).
The same thing applies to America-nii and England-nii, right?
"…"
"…"
"…"
Philippines blinked, and then cocked his head to the side.
"Why is everyone so quiet?" he asked innocently. "Why are you all staring at me? Did I do something wrong?"
America coughed, embarrassed.
England blushed.
Canada just laughed.
My own view of Philippines-tan... I know Hidekaz is making the Asean countries (hope he finishes soon, I wanna see~!). I planned to make Sealand the one asking the questions, but I couldn't find a reason why he would be in America's house (or England's and Canada's), it also felt weird for me to use him after a few minutes of thinking.
