The Sparkling Diamond
Her lips are rose petals on lily-white skin
An earring hangs, sparkling, from one perfect ear
(The other is hidden by the tilt of her head)
Cascading autumnesque hair is tied back in
An elegant knot of woven passion
Curling down, caressing
Eyes, veiled with long lashes of ebony pure, peek out as blue as a clear sky at noon
Flicker
Pause
Move on
Stop.
The act is on.
She is clad in diamonds, lit by spotlight
Or is it sunlight, moonlight, starlight, or love?
Suspended above, she's a star descended
Poised, so still, awaiting the cue
She opens her throat and a song flows forth from those brilliant red lips
Like rain
Like tears
Like love.
Intoxicating, entrancing, driving mad with desire
It floats upon each sweet breath of air
Silence, and wonder, to behold this magnificent splendor!
He knows, now, what love is.
