An evil laugh echoed off the walls of the small, dank, chamber. A patrolling guard peered through the steel bars into the darkness of the cell below. The guard shivered, quick blasts of an unexplainable feeling shot up his back. Reasoning quickly set in, and the guard began to calm himself. It was far too late, however, the creature had already sensed the immense fear within the guard's soul. It slowly moved forward, allowing the light to touch its pale skin.
"Do you fear me?" It hissed, pausing for a split second, then continuing, "Mortal." A clanging noise arose from the right of the guard, followed by a weak murmur. Using all the will the he could muster, guard broke his stare, which was concentrated on the dark beady eyes of the bloodlusting creature. The guard began to walk towards the source of the clanging, Cell 213B. Each step the guard took upon the cold metal walkway resonated off the walls of the prison, letting loose an eerie echo. The sound of steel tearing and twisting, which came from the creature's cell nonetheless, alerted the guard, no, panicked the guard. The guard quickly spun and darted towards the creature's cell, removing his standard prison issue berretta from its holster haunched against his upper thigh. The three inch steel bars were pressed up and torn in half creating a gap large enough for 3 men to fit through.
Then, there was nothing. The guard had stopped breathing. Not even the occasional rat scurrying through an empty cell was to be heard. The seeming code of silence was only ridiculed by an unsuspecting bead of sweat, rolling down the guard's face and finally upon the prison floor.
