Princess

Summary: What was going through Marissa's head at the end of The Ties That Bind?

When I was little, I wanted to be a princess.

Nothing else.

I wanted to sit around on a throne all day, with a crown and dress. Maybe go horseback riding. And the prince would always be waiting for me.

That's not how it works, is it?

I thought I had my prince.

I thought he would be there for me, in his shining armor, proclaiming his love to me.

I was wrong.

He had to leave, I knew that. But the prince is always supposed to go to the princess, not the village girl that he's known forever.

In this new house, no-mansion, no-palace, I would've been happy.

But now I know that there is so much more.

I lift the bottle to my mouth.

Princesses always had a goblet of wine near them, didn't they?

Mine was just a slight variation.

I just want to forget.

My kingdom looks so much smaller now, so much less welcoming without him.

I don't want to be a princess I thought to myself, lifting the bottle to my lips one more time.

I just want Ryan.

Note: I was having lack of inspiration on my other story, so I wrote this. I 3 drabble. R&R!
