"Miss Elphaba you're impossible!" Galinda squealed,

"Oh…that hurt" Elphaba remarked sarcastically, placing her hand on her head and thrusting it backwards. She had to admit, arguing Galinda was the one thing worthy of a dramatic display,

"I'm not going to speak to you for the rest of our time at shiz" Galinda surrendered. There was no point in trying; Elphaba would always win the argument. She was far quicker than Galinda when it came to insults. Elphaba smirked,

"Success at last" She turned her back on Galinda and looked back down at the book she was studying, Irritating little girl she thought to herself before becoming engrossed in her life sciences studies.

Galinda continued to glare at Elphaba, what on earth did I do to end up rooming with a moody, antisocial GREEN girl?? She asked herself silently. Finally, she turned away, satisfied that the argument was done…for now. She settled on her bed to write a letter to her mother,

"Dear Momsie,

I know I already told you about the green girl but I really can't stand it any longer! We have argued 4 times since the first day and it is only the third day now. Today, I merely asked her what outfit I should wear tomorrow and she started to rant about there being more important things in the world than my 'stupid clothing, Frizzy hair and overdone makeup' That's not true is it Momsie? I don't have frizzy hair do I? My make-up is okay isn't it?"

Galinda felt tears sting her eyes. She had no idea why Elphaba was able to hurt her with one petty comment but she could. She slammed her paper & pen onto her bedside cabinet and stomped over to Elphaba. She stood quietly beside her for a moment and was horrified when Elphaba completely ignored her presence. In her frustration she picked up Elphaba's book, slammed it closed and threw it across the room,

"Miss Glinda, I'd hardly say that was necessary!" Elphaba said through gritted teeth,

"GAlinda...my name is Galinda! With an A!"

"Well then...Galinda, you can march your pretty little self over there and pick up my book" Galinda flustered slightly at being called pretty by Elphaba but quickly regained her composure and glared at her,

"No! I demand a truce! We are much too old to carry on this way, especially since we will be rooming for at least a year!" Elphaba thought about it for a moment. Galinda was right; they were going to have to call it quits some time,

"Fine" She stood up and matched Galinda's glare, "but you are never to throw my book again. Is that clear?"

"Crystal" Galinda snarled in a most un-ladylike fashion. Instead of going to retrieve her book, Elphaba got her nightdress and went into the bathroom to wash and dress. She was seething. How she despised that blonde haired beauty...wait what? No! Blonde haired... thing Elphaba corrected herself.
