Chandler Hampton woke up on a Saturday morning. He noticed that his girlfriend, Roxanne, wasn't lying next to him like she would be usually.
Chandler got out of bed and looked around for Roxanne. He found her in the hallway bathroom.
Roxanne was wearing a black knee-length dress. Her normally straight blonde hair was curled nicely. She was wearing a lot of makeup and putting on perfume. Roxanne never wore perfume.

"Roxanne, what's with the fancy outfit?" Chandler asked her.
Roxanne turned around and saw her boyfriend looking oddly at her. She needed an excuse, and fast. That way Chandler wouldn't figure out where she was really going.
"Oh Chandler, I'm just heading out with some friends. I'm not sure when I'll be back," Roxanne said.
"But…" Roxanne cut Chandler off.
"I love you too, bye," Roxanne kissed him quickly and left.
Chandler noticed that Roxanne had left her cell phone behind. It started beeping, signaling a text message being sent.

Chandler knew he shouldn't snoop, but he couldn't help it. He wanted to see who was sending Roxanne a message. Maybe it'd provide him a "why" to Roxanne's hurry just minutes before.
Chandler opened the message and read it.
Roxanne, baby, when are you coming? I wanna get this date going already. I hope your boyfriend didn't find out about us dating secretly. Well, see you soon babe. Love, Steve.
Chandler couldn't believe it. Roxanne was cheating on him. He had wanted an explanation to her strange behavior, but not this.
He went over to the phone and called the only person he could now trust, his best friend Cheryl.
He told Cheryl about Roxanne. Cheryl said that she'd come over right away. Chandler loved Cheryl, she was a great friend and always there for him.

Cheryl rung Chandler's doorbell. It opened to reveal a crying Chandler.
"Chandler, are you ok?" Cheryl asked, concerned.
"I really loved her Cheryl, how could she do this to me?" Chandler cried.
Cheryl pulled him into a tight embrace, "shhh, it's going to be alright Chandler, I'm here for you."
The two looked at each other. Then they kissed.

Although Roxanne was cheating on him, Chandler felt happy. Being here with Cheryl, it felt so right. He knew that he'd be happy with Cheryl, and that he'd have to let go of Roxanne. Sure he loved her, but Roxanne was the past. And Cheryl was the future.
