It was the near the end of summer break Yamato and I have not seen each other since the day school ended. Yamato worked at the modeling agency most of the summer and when he had off I worked in the bakery, But today was the day where we both had the day to our self's. We decided to meet up up at the park.

"Mei!"

I looked over my shoulder toward the voice. There was Yamato running towards me. When he got to me he hugged me. I forgot how warm he is when he hugs me.

"Hi Yamato."

"It feels like it has been forever since we have talked."

"I have missed talking to you."

"Me too."

"Why did you want to meet in the park so late?"

"I'll show you, follow me."

We walked through the park slowly, holding hands and not talking trying to make the most of the moment. The flowers on the side of the path were in full bloom. The couples we walked past were talking and laughing. It did not bother us, this was our own time and I was enjoying every minute of it. So much in fact that I blanked out.

"Mei! Yamato!"

I snapped out of the blank. It was Kenji and Asami.

"Hey!"

"Fancy meeting you here. We haven't heard from you guys all summer, we thought something happened."

"We both had work."

"Come to think about it I did see you in the latest version of the magazine, Yamato."

"So what brought you guys here tonight?"

"I was going to show Mei something special. Why are you here?"

"We wanted to have a last date before school starts."

"If you want you could join us, we could make it a double date and go to a karaoke bar."

"I wanted to be alone with Mei tonight, maybe another time."

"Aw. Okay have fun you guys!"

Kenji and Asami joyfully left laughing and having the time of their lives.

"Looks like they are having fun."

"Ya."

"Lets continue where we were heading."

We walked for a few minutes and reached the edge of a lake.

"This is what I wanted to show you."

Yamato pointed out towards the lake and the sun was just setting behind some trees with the orange sky reflecting in the water made it perfect. We sat on the grass in an open patch, I was curled up under his arm in complete silence just admiring the water.

"Mei."

I looked up into his eyes.

"I am sorry we were not able to spend time together this summer."

"It is okay. All that matters is that we are together here and now."

"Glad to hear that."

"Yamato. There is something I wanted to tell you."

"What?"

"I...I..."

My heart skipped a beat.

"I love you!"

We just stared into each others eyes for a while, before finally slowly leaning in to kiss. This is not a night I will ever forget.
