The closing theme of iValiant Journey/i wafted through the common room. It could be hokey and contrived at times, but it was still a link to home. He could imagine himself back in New Haven sitting around the radio in his parents' living room.
"It is now 10:30 in Pittsburgh and time for iChampion for Freedom/i."
iAh, the good stuff/i He checked his watch and saw he had time before his next mission over Germany.
There was a polite knock on the doorjamb. "Colonel, it's time for pre-flight."
"Right." He could always catch Champion tomorrow. Col. Robert Hogan picked up his flight jacket and cap and headed for his plane.
