"Don't be silly!" Ziva objected loudly as she gripped Tony's arm and practically pushed him into the middle of the street.

"Ziva! It's pouring rain. Neither of us have a car, and you won't take my jacket!" he yelled back at her, trying to keep his boiling temper under control.

"It is not my fault that you decided it would be a good idea to walk from your apartment to the restaurant,"

They had both stopped walking now, and were having an intense staring contest. In the torrential downpour her hair had poofed out like crazy causing it to look wild and untamed, like a lions mane. "You know what, Ziva? We're not going to argue about this anymore, okay? Let me just walk you to my house and I'll drive you home. Why can't we just call a cab!" he demanded suddenly.

"It is a waste of money. Do not be silly, Tony. Your apartment is a few blocks away. Let's go,"

"Fine. Whatever," he answered back bitterly, walking down the street with her lagging slightly behind him. She caught up with him easily.

The rest of the walk home was eerily silent. Ziva began to regret not taking the jacket, but nonetheless they were both soaked. Tony could feel his jacket and his shirt clinging to him, and his shoes squeaked with every step. Ziva, on the other hand, was walking down the street barefoot in her little black dress with her heels slung on her fingers.

As they approached the apartment, Ziva stopped in front of Tony and turned to face him. She stared right up at him. Her heart nearly beat out of her chest as she made the decision that could change both their lives.

She kissed him. He kissed her back. This continued for several minutes, until Ziva finally pulled away, searching his eyes for an answer.

He just smiled back at her, "I knew there was a reason why you insisted on walking."

She got into her car and called back not looking at him, "Was it worth it?"

As she pulled away, Tony smirked and thought, "Oh yeah. Well worth it,"
