"I once knew a cat that grew on me,
Was real sweet, but mean to me.

I left it under a bridge one day,
It came back with no delay.

It sat on the porch in pouring rain,
Waiting, crying in its pain.

The night wore on 'till the sun shone here,
Yet the cat did not appear.

I waited, cried and feared for it,
Never knowing angels held it.

The cat I knew was gone for good,
But I know now I mis-understood."

Tohru sighed, finishing the song her mother would sing to her at night. She had finished the kitchen, and was patching up a wall the boys had broke. She sat, unaware of the three shadows that sat apart, silently, all affected by her in their own way.
