Life After Logan

It wasn't Logan who impaled John (Daken), but Sabretooth, who spent years through manifestly changing his appearance to represent his brother Logan as close as he could. When Sabreooth finally revealed himself through a scar that never healed when he and Logan were children, John became confused and fought Sabretooth. During the scuffle, Logan tried to break up the fight accidentally piercing his son while throwing his brother over a cliff. Logan sat next to John unable to keep him from bleeding. To save his son, he found a hose to a fish tank from a nearby shed next to the cottage on the mountain. He pierced his wrist, holding his blade in the wound to keep it from instantly healing while draining his own blood and creating a I.V. for his son. During this process, John could read memories from Logan's past through the blood transfusion, even memories Logan was unaware of, maybe through deep suppression. John fell back and closed his eyes, as he was overwhelmed by the amount of information he was receiving through such short bursts. In these memories were Jean Grey (Phoenix), Rogue, and even his mother Itsu, which revealed how deeply compassionate Logan really was. Hidden in his memories was a promise Logan made to Professor X, that he would give his own life for his son, if it could just mean that his son (John) could feel how much Logan loved him, even for a second.

While John laid there with his eyes closed, Logan watched his son and felt for a pulse. John's eyes opened and sat up, looking down at the blood-soaked abdomen where he was impaled, he lifted his shirt and the final wound over his heart was closing up. As Logan began to weep for the happiness he felt for his son's health, he passed out and fell back. John disconnected the hose from the both of them and tossed it to the side, crawling over to his father. When Logan opened his eyes, he told John he looked like an angel. After helping each other up, they made a pact never to help anyone, good or bad, ever again, and live remotely in the remote cottage on the mountain. Each explained that by helping the good or bad, it just breeds more of the opposing force. They had sustained a life of desolation and solitude for over thirty years without making contact or even seeing another human being. When Logan and John decided to finally get a newspaper, they concealed their identity and found an abandoned library in an old smaller town. They gathered as many books, magazines, and news clippings from an archived bunker under the library and made their way back home. There they were able to watch and learn through the years how the world had changed through technology and politics. They felt they made the right choice. After researching more on themselves and all of the events they were involved in, they found that the world had forgotten about them. And this is how they preferred it.
