"Just put the love potion in the chocolate cauldrons, you said. You won't have to do anything, and he'll love you anyway, you said. I didn't think anyone would end up in the bloody Hospital Wing because of it!"
"But that wasn't your fault, Romilda," Demelza told her roommate. "You didn't know that Ron would eat them instead of Harry. You didn't know Harry would take him to Slughorn. And you certainly couldn't have known that Slughorn would offer them poisoned mead! Could you?"
"Of course I couldn't! But that doesn't mean I don't feel terribly about it, and now Ginny's even more upset with me than usual. First I go after her crush, and then it ends up almost killing her brother? Do me a favor and keep me company around her for awhile, Demmy. I don't want to end up on the receiving end of one of her bat-bogey hexes. She can be bloody ruthless when she wants to be, and I'm sure I've ended up on her bad side after this—"
"Shush!" Demelza hissed as the door to the dormitory creaked open, and Ginny came in. When she saw the other two girls standing by the window, and looking guilty, she smiled.
"Well, as much as I never thought I'd say this, I have to thank you, Millie."
"Wh-what?" Romilda said, startled.
"Ron's just inadvertently ended things with Lavender and told Hermione how he feels about her. If it hadn't been for your little stunt with those 'cauldrons full of hot strong love' he might never have taken the plunge. Of course, I'm sure he'll be utterly mortified when he actually wakes up, but still. You've just spared me a lifetime of having to call Lavender Brown my sister-in-law."
