Valentine's Day

Ever since that day she met up with Chris again, she was haunted. He thought she was dead (again) because of the outbreak in Crete. She was surrounded, and yes, she almost died. The antivirus in her body saved her. And a certain woman. She deeply regretted not dying, because now she had to go through hell again.

She felt the satisfying recoil of her AK-101 as she tore through the enemy forces again. This time, it was in St. Petersburg. The legions of infected just didn't quit, and that was fine by her. She was side-to-side with her long-time friend, Rebecca, just firing away. Fine by her.

"Shit… I need ammo, Becky!"

'Here!"

"Thanks!"

The cold climate was slowing the zeds down some, but not really enough. They just couldn't maintain a good situation with their 5.56mm rifle rounds. They had the same weapons, so that didn't really help. If they were reduced to their sidearms, they were pretty much fucked. They needed shelter.

"Jill… we just can't do this much longer! We need to escape!"

"Oh, no we don't! I brought this!"

"How didn't I notice that!?"

"I don't know."

Jill pulled out the famous RPG-7. She shot it into the crowd, creating a very wide escape route. Satisfied, they escaped.

When they were at a safe place, in other words, their base, Rebecca peered over at Jill. She was eating peacefully, but she was still sad-looking, obstructing her usually quite beautiful face.

"You really do miss him… Don't you?"

Jill stopped.

"No…" she lied easily.

"Sorry, but you're too easy to read for me to believe that."

Jill sighed.

"You just can't mind your own business, can you?"

"You could say that."

"Yes, I miss him. Our mission, however, is to destroy the roots of the infection here and gain a blood sample from Nemesis. If we can do that, then we can worry about him."

"I'm sure Chris misses you, too."

Jill stopped again. Then a tear slowly rolled down her face.

"It doesn't matter if he does or not… I'll never show my face to him again…"

"Why?"

"Because it was my fault he's in a hospital bed in the BSAA HQ!"

"He will never blame you for that, Jill! And neither will I!"

"Stop trying to be my friend!!"

"Jill, I'll always be your friend! No matter how much of a bitch you're being!!"

Jill finally just stood up.

"Fine then. Be my friend from Headquarters. I'm sending you back, and I'm going solo. Bye."

She left the room. Rebecca watched her go.

"Jill… What happened to you…? Ever since Crete… Are you even my friend anymore?"

And that is my first RE fic. I know it's short, but... Well... Sayonara.
