Maybe She Is…

A/N: Edwin fluff. I have many more like this. Various one-shots mostly.

I usually don't post a story until it's complete; I have a tendency to abandon my ideas. I have several epics in the works. Many Edwin, some Alwin and a few tragedies. I write about EVERYTHING. Well on with the fic!

Disclaimer: no hargen for me I'm poor. :'( .

It was a cold night in the eastern desert. Colder than his brother's stainless steel skin or his mechanic limbs, the ones she made for him.

A memory crept its way into the back of his mind.

Winry was lying in her bed fast asleep. Her nightgown bunched up just above her mid thigh. Her breathing was shallow and consistent. Her tousled, flaxen hair was framing her face in the soft moonlight.

He sighed and began to slip out of the room. A board creaked under his weight. He froze. But she did not stir so he retreated from the room and ventured down the stairs.

He sat on the couch and began to read over a book he salvaged from the central library; but his thoughts remained on her soft figure bathing in the moonlight.

'Just like my heart did…' he now thought.

The elder Elric's eyes popped open where they were met by icy wind and freelance grains of sand, causing them to water.

'My god Elric you sound like a corny romance novel, you're pathetic!'

"Nee-san, are you crying?"

"Wha- hell no, sand in my eyes. How much longer do you think it is?"

"I don't know Ed. But I do know that we'd have been there yesterday if you hadn't made us get of the train at the last stop. Now we have to walk all the way to Usewell on foot."

"Are you stupid steel for brains? If I had lost that picture out the window, Winry would have killed me, it's the only copy!

"It was a photograph of Winry and Den sitting a checkered picnic blanket, She was holding up a wine glass that probably didn't contain anything more than apple juice up the camera with a smile. On the back scrawled in blue ink on the back was a short monologue.

-To Edward & Alphonse Elric, Never give up! I know you've got it in you to go all the way! Just remember that I've got your back!

Always.

Super Mechanic Winry Rockbell

He could imagine the cerulean-eyed girl's demeanor if she found out he lost it.

"Edward Elric you mindless peon! Do you have any idea-uhg!

Slam!

The blonde haired boy could feel the wrench (which he had paid for ironically enough) colliding with the back of his skull.

He chuckled under his breath.

"He he Winry…"

This caught the younger brother's attention.

"What's that nee-san? Daydreaming about your girlfriend again?"

"Yea Al, my girlfriend."

Ed smiled at his own sarcastic remark.

"So she is your girlfriend. Maybe I should call Win up and ask her that when we get to town…"

The young alchemist grinned as much as a suit of armor could before running off into the night.

"Not if I ask her first…"

He smiled and raced his brother towards the first phone he could find.

End

I thought it was cute. Well read and review!
