A/N: Right, I guess we don't all remember Shunjun, the blue-haired member of the Spirit Realm Special Defence Squad, who claimed to be the bounty hunter who took down Youko Kurama.

Disclaimer: No, don't own Kurama or Shunjun, or the Reikai Palace.

Nothing Personal

For years, he had taken pride on the fact that he was the one who hunted down Youko Kurama. He was the one who killed him and ended his long career as the King of Thieves. He had boasted and bragged about it until his mind was full of power and confidence and his comrades were bored of hearing his self-inflated voice.

It was one thing to hear the fox was still alive.

It was an entirely different thing to meet him face to face again.

Well, at least in some way seeing him again: that cute young human face was so deceiving it was almost hard to believe he was the same tall, cold and talented old thief, whose ruthlessness and cunning had earned him a place among the legends. It was unbelievable that it was his sleek silvery fox form that had only narrowly escaped death by the bounty hunter's hand. Only the quick narrowing of intelligent green eyes upon their meeting told Shunjun that he was indeed facing the same fox again.

"Funny", he said. "I thought I killed you."

Red eyebrow quirked elegantly. Soft voice replied. "Oh, it's you."

Whatever he had expected, it definitely wasn't this. He had anticipated fear, anger, or perhaps burning revenge in the depths of golden eyes… Instead he stared at deep green eyes that were filled with indifference.

He guessed he should have expected it. According to Spirit Realm database, Youko Kurama had already reached the rumoured, legendary S-class, a level far superior to the Defence Squad's abilities. The thief had nothing to worry about anymore.

But Shunjun was not about to give up. "Next time I'll get you for sure", he hissed threateningly.

Red eyebrows rose again, giving an easily translated 'whatever', before the fox turned his gaze away and walked past Shunjun as though the man had suddenly ceased to exist, as though nothing had happened at all. And in a way, it hadn't.

They both knew next time would never come.

Funny notes: If ANYONE can suggest a better name, I would be rather grateful. I didn't want to name this story like I did, but after spending two days figuring out different names with Adi-sensei we finally grew so frustrated we gave up. Just for my personal amusement I'll put the weirdest ones here, so you know how annoying things like this can get.

Eternal Contamination (kind of makes you wonder what the h- this has to do with anything)

One Moment in Dark Corridor (Adi-sensei was being as smart as I was)

Eternity is a long time

Oh, it's you

Painted with colours

Whatever

Damn I couldn't Invent A Name For This

Nameless Encounter Please Read Anyway

The night my inventiveness died

Stupid Story Roll Over And Die

… and that's only the weird ones. I'll spare you from the rest.
