Hey everyone, this is my first fanfic, and it's in honour of the same sex marriage bill being passed in New York. Enjoy!
"Ssh!" Kurt waved a hand at Finn as he and Blaine watched the screen of the T.V. in Kurt's living room intently. Blaine had come for a sleepover at Kurt's house because today was the day. Today(or rather, midnight) New York was going to vote on the same sex marriage bill. Finn was probably wondering why Kurt and Blaine were up at midnight, but they had to watch this.
If the bill was passed, Kurt and Blaine could get married, start a family. They could move to New York, and hold hands and say that they were husbands, instead of partners. This would mean the world to both of them.
It was 29-30. They needed 2 more votes to win, There were 3 undecided. They could vote either way. Kurt held his breath and grabbed Blaine's hand as the results came on the flat screen. 29-33. The bill had been passed.
There was a split second of silence, followed by Finn shouting "Dude! You guys can get married!' Followed by Kurt, Blaine and Finn shouting and hugging each other in excitement, Kurt and Blaine excited for their Future, and Finn happy for his little bro and Blaine. Blaine crashed his lips to Kurt. This was it. They could finally be one, happy and united. Kurt had wanted to go to New York when they graduated anyway.
The shouting suddenly came to a halt as Burt and Carol came down the stairs. "What's going on?" Carol asked. Kurt pretended to sound very sombre and said "They had the same sex marriage bill just then, for New York." "And?" Carol asked, egging Kurt on. "and... BLAINE AND I CAN GET MARRIED!"
The room erupted in cheers yet again, and Kurt could have sworn that they had woken up just about everyone in the neighbourhood. But he didn't care. He had been ridiculed and tormented for years about his sexuality, now he was going to get his happy ending with the boy he loved.
And nothing could spoil his happiness.
