"It's not him…I know you think it is, and it was once, but not anymore. I only want you…I love you. I love everything stupid thing about your stupid self, just please…please save me!" Rory shook with fear and building anger as he listened to his invisible wife sob. The nanochip in his hand blinked red and nothing over and over. He couldn't tell if Amy was talking about the Doctor or him.

"Just come save me, you always do. You always are there and you always show up just when I need you. Don't let me down!" Amy choked on a sob. "I want to see your stupid face."

Rory wrapped his hand around the chip and sighed. He leaned his head against the box he was sitting in front of. The Doctor looked down at him. Anger boiled inside of Rory.

"If she's talking about you, I'm going to kill you!" Rory steamed, started to rise.

"No you're not," the Doctor answered sadly, taking a step back. "Because you know Amy would be heartbroken if you did."

Rory blinked a couple times. The Doctor was right, as always, but Rory wanted to be right. Rory wanted to be the hero. "I'm going to save her, I'm going to find her," Rory growled, stepping closer and closer to the Doctor. "I will win her back, do you understand me?"

"I understand you perfectly," the Doctor concurred. "And I will do my best to let you." He walked away, straightening his bow tie.

After the Doctor was gone, Rory turned away and cupped his hand open. "I know you can't hear me right now, but you will soon, I will find you Amy. I promise. This time, I'm going to sweep you off your feet and rescue you. But you have to believe me. Please Amy…I…I love you…" his eyes welled up and a tear fell to the concrete ground. "Don't leave me for him Amy," Rory blubbered. "I can't live without you…I waited two thousand years for you…don't leave me now!" He dropped to his knees, pressing the nanochip to his chest.

The Doctor watched from a distance. When he saw Rory drop, the Doctor closed his eyes and wished with all his might that Amy was talking about loving Rory, and not him…no matter how much the Doctor may hope otherwise.
