Genre: Hurt/Comfort
I was leaning against the wall of Master's room when Master entered. I wanted to greet Master, but then I noticed that his aura was a bit different. I caught sight of his face, his eyes were red and slightly puffy. Tears were streaming down his cheeks.
"Master?" I asked through our bond. Every cursed sword and their owner has a bond, allowing them to communicate telepathically. Master and I have been together for many years, so our bond is stronger.
"Sorry, did I disturb you?" Master asked.
"Master, what's wrong?"
Master didn't answer. He never wanted to burden others with his own problems. He wouldn't even talk about his personal life with his crew. Master has always cried around this time of the year. I still have yet to figure out why, despite our closeness.
"Master, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing," Master smiled at me, but he was still crying.
"Master,"
Master went over to his bed and sat down, his back facing me. I was worried about him. I began to change into my manifested form, looking like an exact copy of Master except for the clothing. I wore a black t-shirt with white crosses on it, white pants, and purple shoes. I had a red headband around my forehead.
I walked over to Master and sat down beside him. Master seemed startled. "K-Kikoku?"
I wrapped my arms around Master. "Tell me what's wrong, Master,"
Master frowned. "Don't tell me what to do,"
I smirked. Even in this saddened state, Master still hated being ordered around. My smirk then disappeared. "Master, why are you crying? Why do you cry around this time of year?"
Master looked down at his lap. "You remember when I told you that I'm from Flevance, right?"
"Yes," I nodded.
"And you remember that the World Government destroyed the whole city, right?" I nodded again. "Today is that day…Today is the day I lost everyone I cared about…my parents…my sister…my friends…"
I hugged Master even tighter, feeling his emotions through our bond. I may just be a cursed sword, but I understand human emotions due to my previous wielders. "They're in a better place now, Master,"
"Law," Master said. "You can call me Law, Kikoku,"
"Master suits you better," I told him. "It is how I address all of my users,"
"Maybe I don't want to be called the same as the rest of your former owners," Master said.
I continued to hold Master until he slowly began to nod off due to exhaustion. I then resumed to lean against the wall, shifting to my nodachi form. I could tell that he was still saddened, but he managed to sleep peacefully.
Master would help out his crew with problems but he wouldn't let them know about his problems. He always kept his emotions hidden to others, keeping his poker face a smirk. But Master is still human. There are times when Master needs to be comforted, but he doesn't ask anyone.
So if you didn't already know, this was written from Kikoku's POV. Kikoku is Law's nodachi and is also a cursed sword. Sorry if Law is OOC. I imagined Kikoku as a loyal companion of Law's and that he'd be worried about his master.
