Make The First Move

By Angel14

If you see me walking down the street

His arms wrapped around me,

It's not because I don't want to wrap myself in yours

But because you're not wrapping me in them

Nuriko walked around the town. He was looking for someone, someone whom he needed to see, and someone who he really loved. As he exited a flower shop with a bunch of roses in his arms, he saw her. She was with another guy. The guy was familiar. He knew who he was. Latifa was with Amiboshi. Amiboshi had his arm over her shoulder. She was holding lilies in her hands. Nuriko looked at the flowers in his and sighed. He threw the flowers in the trash bin and walked back to his apartment. He knew he was too slow.

If you see me at the mall

And my hands are locked with his

It's not because I don't want to hold your hand

It's just that you weren't there to reach for it

Nuriko had a fight with Latifa after he saw her with Amiboshi. To make up for that, he decided to buy something special for her, most probably, what she liked. He decided to buy her a figurine of a cat, her favorite animal. As he entered the shop, the first thing he saw was the best thing he could ever give her. He took it and bought it for 536 yen. As he exited the shop, he walked towards the food court. As he descended the stairs, there were two familiar forms coming out of the pet shop. Nuriko looked closer and saw that it was them, Latifa and Amiboshi. Amiboshi had bought her a cat. He was forlorn. He had crushed the glass figurine in his hands. He was again, too slow to act.

If you see me at the park

Staring deeply into his eyes

It's not because I don't want to look into yours

But because you weren't there to steer them your way

He didn't know what to do now. Everything he wanted to do, Amiboshi already did, but better. He couldn't compare to Amiboshi. As he sat on the bench of the park, he couldn't help but feel miserable. All he saw were couples together and children playing. The sun was almost setting in the horizon. He stood and walked towards the sunset. He leaned sideways on a tree trunk. "I love you, Amiboshi." A voice said. Nuriko didn't want to see who it was but he knew. As he turned his head, the sight of Latifa and Amiboshi kissing was distressing. He moved away and ran away. Away from them, away from all the things that could make him remember about what had happened between her and him.

If you always see me with him

And you feel like I'm starting to fall

It's not that I didn't fall for you

But because you weren't there to catch me

Nuriko went over to Latifa's house. He rang the doorbell two times. She opened it. He was fortunate that she was home. But the next thing he knew, Amiboshi came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. His smile faded. "Nuriko! Hi. What are you doing here?" Latifa asked, giggling a bit at what Amiboshi was doing. "Nothing. Mrs. Freud asked me to give this to you." He lied; giving her a small token hat he bought himself. It was a heart-shaped necklace. "Oh! It's beautiful! Please thank Mrs. Freud for me. Thanks Nuriko." She said giving it to Amiboshi and allowing him to put it on. "It looks beautiful on you, Latifa." Amiboshi said, beating Nuriko to it. "Thanks baby!" Latifa acknowledged. Amiboshi grinned at Nuriko and closed the door in front of him. He, again, was too slow.

What do you expect me to do?

Make the first move?
