"Come on, let's dance."
Owen stepped out onto the dance floor and held out his hand for Cristina to grab. When her fingers enclosed around his, he pulled her in tightly to his chest, wrapping his arms around her waist. Her arms went immediately around his neck, and the two held each other. To anyone around them, this wasn't what they would call dancing, but for this couple, this was the only way they knew.
Cristina sighed after a few minutes, looking around at everyone else near her. "You know, I never thought I'd be married before Callie. I never thought I'd be married at all, but I am, and suddenly I feel like I'm comparing ours to this one now. That's not me!"
Owen kissed her forehead lightly.
"It's you, just a very different version then the one you let people see."
"Yeah I guess. Only some people get to see this side of me, the gushy, girl side. The cringe worthy side."
"Well I'm glad I'm one of those lucky people."
Cristina put her head down slowly on Owen's chest, the couple still moving to the beat of the song.
"So how does our wedding compare to this one?"
"Well ours was a lot better," Cristina replied. She reached up and touched her lips to his. He was surprised at first, but soon kissed her back lovingly. It was a short kiss, as they knew they were at a wedding, but it was sweet. "It wasn't perfect though..."
Owen looked down at her in surprise, not quite sure if he should be offended or not. "What was wrong with it?"
"Nothing, nothing was bad or anything. I like it the way it was... I just meant it was still kind of traditional. I know I didn't wear a white dress, and my mom wasn't even there, but all those hugs and congrats. That was very hard to do. And the whole 'first dance' ting, I wasn't really expecting that. Who's idea was that anyway?"
"I thought you liked the first dance..." Owen said, suddenly a little self-conscious. He himself had quite enjoyed it.
Cristina laughed at the expression on Owen's face.
"It was awesome... well after the shock of actually having to do it wore off. I just didn't like everyone watching. Like right now, no one is paying us any attention, and that just makes it better. We're in our own little world, or whatever."
Owen looked around and saw that there was indeed not a single person looking their way. Everyone was focused on Callie and Arizona, which didn't surprise Owen. "I knew you'd think something like that about the whole dancing thing. I told Meredith that... yeah, it was her idea... but she said you had to experience it. Her exact words were, "You only get married once.""
Cristina smiled. "See, this is why we're married. But unfortunately there is no compromising with Meredith. I probably should've told you that a while ago before you wasted all your breath."
The song came to an end. Owen spun Cristina around one last time, kissed her again, then the two headed off to their table.
They talked the whole night, chatting about anything that came to their minds. Right now, it seemed the couple were happier than Callie and Arizona... Owen and Cristina were still on their honeymoon, still living their happy married life.
