Beca was looking through the library when she saw Stacie and Chloe watching something on Stacie's laptop.
"She didn't kill him," said Chloe.
"He's not moving," said Stacie.
"Yes he is," said Chloe. "See, he's driving away in his car."
"Yeah, but the video's non-linear," said Stacie. "That takes place before she starts wrecking his car."
"Hey guys," said Beca.
"Hey Becks," said Chloe.
"What did you call me?" said Beca.
"Sorry," said Chloe. "Beca what do you think of the video for 'Blank Space'."
"What about it?" said Beca.
"Do you think Taylor Swift killed her boyfriend?" said Stacie. "In the video I mean."
"Uh, I don't remember seeing her kill anyone," said Beca.
"See," said Chloe.
"Only 'cause she was real subtle about it," said Stacie. "The whole video shows her escalating her violent behavior towards him, until she starts waving a golf club at his car and he tries to stop her. Then it ends with her beating him to death and started making out with his corpse. See what I mean?"
"I guess you could see it that way," said Beca. "I don't. I think it's about falling in love with someone who you'll regret."
"You think so?" said Chloe.
"Yeah," said Beca. "I mean I can relate."
"Really?" said Chloe. "So who's your regret? Anyone I'd know?"
"Well...I was being general," said Beca. "I didn't mean anyone specific."
"Right." Chloe winked. "I mean I know of girls who've hooked up with the Trebles and regretted it later."
"They hooked up with the Trebles?" said Beca. "So you're saying they hooked up with all the Trebles. Like at once?"
"That's really not that hard," said Stacie. "At least in theory."
"Well I heard one girl hooked up with this one guy and she really wished she didn't," said Chloe. "I forget his name. I think it started with a J."
"Was it John?" said Beca.
"Or Jeremy, or Joe?" said Stacie. "Or how about Joseph?"
"I thought Joe was short for Joseph?" said Beca.
"I thought it was short for Joey?" said Stacie.
"Anyways," said Chloe. "She really regretted having sex with the guy whose name started with J."
"So you're saying I shouldn't hook up with a guy whose name starts with J," said Beca. "That's...interesting."
"I'm just looking out for you," said Chloe.
"Well I've got to get back to studying," said Beca. "Bye."
Once Beca was gone, Stacie turned to Chloe. "Wanna watch the video for 'Shake it Off'?"
"Okay," said Chloe. "What do you think that song's about? The commercialization of musical genres? The way pop stars are constantly trying to change their image?"
"No," said Stacie. "That song's about losing weight with dancing."
